Par2pro's video of e6 1.6 from PGA show.

FWIW the E6 cloud price for commercial venues has been increased (latest $175 + $90), I am not sure it is set in stone yet (I thought the $150 + $75 was!). TGC + Personal Pro looks great at $2,300 but E6 looks to excel making it user friendly in a commercial setting.

      No, not officially.

I completed the download yesterday, it took about 2.5 hours to complete and then I needed to send a request to update my security dongle and am just waiting on the security dongle update now. I will keep everyone posted.

Just a quick note to say that I rec'd the security dongle update now and should have everything up and running tonight. I must say that the customer support from Trugolf has been very good and that they have been very responsive to emails.

Cool. Looking forward to your thoughts on e6 1.6. Maybe you can twitch 9 holes on your favorite course?

Her some pics, overall looks way better than the previous version, definitely brighter. unfortunately could not play too much today, thus more thoughts to follow, but a few things I noted:

              1. handicap and shot boosting is all locked down (tried to click on the links for these to see what they are and got a message noting that they cannot be changed.).

              2. wished I could figure out how to change the system set password to something easier to remember for myself (maybe reading the instructions might have helped).

              3. Had a quick look at the courses as well and they all look better. Want to try Sanctuary when I get a chance, as it looks great, just looks really tough though.

              4. I do like the random sky that shows up, does make it all look better.

              5. Also, the background images also have been improved and I think it helps.

Please let me know if there are pics of a specific course anyone will like to see and I will try and twich (spelling) a few holes on the weekend (I will need to read the instructions on one of the other threads I saw here).

Pics are of Whistler, a course I have played a few times and enjoyed. Playing on the sim brings back some good memories.

So after some more games on 1.6, I think I can provide a little more of an update on my thoughts:

                  1. I definitely prefer the interface over the previous version.

                  2. Putting is most definitely better, although the comments before on the grid being to light now are very accurate. Not sure why they could not put in a grid like on other sims that shows the break with moving arrows etc.

                  3. I do like that every is brighter.

                  4. There is more texture, I do prefer the look over the previous version. Lake reflections are better, but I hunk waterfalls and the ocean looks the same as the prev version.

                  5. I sure think each of the courses that I have played really need a good watering and a lot of fertilizer. I think this is where from what I have seen is one of the things that makes TGC look better for starters.

More to come, while I am enjoying the new version I think they could have done better given how long the wait was.

Thanks for the update Dax. The rough and high rough looks great in TGC because they're using 3D textures. In e6 1.6, it just looks like a painted surface.

Dax, have you been able to check out any of the online features, or is that locked down with the demo as well? Thanks for the review!

I have not been able to see anything specific that would allow one to access online features, apart from registering a player. I will try and have a closer look.

I've been messing around a little with the 1.6 demo today. There's nothing for online play in the demo version. But you can register an account and your email address to email scorecards and I think stats, too. Looks only a bit nicer than current E6. The added brightness and larger UI elements are nice improvements. I like the new TV Mode camera, too. Still I'm a bit underwhelmed by the update. Seems like a lot to pay for some minor tweaks. The biggest changes are in the UI, not in the graphics or gameplay. I saw on one of the Par2Pro vids you should be able to bring up your shot analysis again after it disappears, but I can't find where to do that. Might not be in the demo.

Maybe stirring the pot a little, but when I step back about a year, this is what I was expecting:

                              1. Some sort of lighting model that showed haze in the sky at a distance.

                              2. A feature where you were hitting in the direction of the sun things got brighter.

Perhaps user experience testing the above got them to change, but the biggest surprise wasPar 2 pro video from 2014 where the company stated the following:

                              1. upgrade to be released to all users in 60 days

                              2. Upgrade would be free.

I can likely see some angry people out there. Does any one remember any other features that were expected?
