  • 4:3 resolution without window mode?

I just got my projector and hooked up my PC to it via HDMI. The projector is a 16:9 4k (Viewsonic 748-4K) but I'm going run in 4:3 because of my screen size. I set windows to 1600x1200 and it works fine. When I run e6 - it seems to force a 16:9 aspect ratio in the 4:3 screen (i.e. it has black bars on top and bottom). If I change e6 to be in windowed mode, I can tell it to use 1600x1200 and it works ok but I can see a bright white menu bar on top of the screen.

Is there any way to run e6 in 1600x1200 mode in full screen?

First: you're not using all available pixels of your projector. To use the full 2160 available vertical pixels, create a "custom resolution" in Nvidia Control Panel of X,XXX by 2,160, where X,XXX represents the number of horizontal pixels required to fit your screen (should be close to 2,880 if you have a 4:3 image size available on your screen). If you want to get technical, measure the available screen dimensions in inches, and take 2,160 X Width/Height. After creating the custom resolution, go to Window Display Settings and select that resolution you just created. Leave the projector set to default aspect ratio (16:9).

Next: in E6 Connect settings under Video, select Full Screen mode and the highest resolution available and restart it. (Note that E6 Connect's initial launch screens often don't fill the screens - but the range or courses will.)

Thanks - that worked. I think I got confused because the main menu still looks like it's 16:9 but it goes to 4:3 when golfing.

I'm only running 1600x1200 because I currently only have an old GTX 970 I had laying around in the computer. I spent my upgrade money on a 3080 for my gaming PC and am waiting for prices to come down before I get something for the golf sim.

Man, I am in the same boat. I want to build another PC with a USB expansion card but GPU prices are through the roof right now.
    Working...
