  • Perfect Golf (beta) for Skytrak

Perfect Golf might look like a great game but has way too many bugs, even for an early access game still under development. It has a very long way to go before it can be mentioned in the same sentence as TGC, E6, ProTee and Red Chain. There is no AI, no stats, no tournament play and online play servers crash frequently. It currently has 10 courses and no stable (commercially) released version.

Price is unknown, but keep in mind you will be buying a beta product.

We are testing Perfect golf. It's ok but not great. Some limitations as Menace mentioned. I would certainly not hold out for Perfect golf.

Well that's not good news. I'd love to see a video or something to substantiate those claims.

So Bubba22 your telling us that TGC is the best of the Sims you've tested? Just curious, is there any bias because you work for Protee/TGC?

Just to be clear, I don't work for ProTee. I have a ProTee, Skytrak, P3Pro and Optishot. I have tested everything out there. In my opinion TGC is the best sim software. Not that I wouldn't recommend E6 or PG. I encourage everyone to try them all before deciding.

Sorry Bubba22, I thought Denis paid you and provided you with free gear. My bad if that's not the case.

I will try and put together a video of PG tomorrow. its gonna be a short one because I don't care for PG much and I have to get my summer tour round in also.

All 3 simulations software have good points. And all 3 will be fun to play. But after you play TGC the rest just leave you wanting more.

Its no different than any other choice we make. You can stay at Motel 6, or you can stay at the Radison or you can stay at the Hilton.

Make the choice a run with it.

Thanks but at this point I am just a field filler. But I am not a quitter. I think MHunt has this one on lockdown.

        Any insights on system requirements?

TGC: I saw the system requirements on other thread (and looks like it'll be for PC only?)
E6: not sure about system requirements but looks like for PC only as well?
Perfect Golf: looks like might work on MacOS (not sure about system/hardware requirements though) - wonder if will also have app available for use on iOS (for iPads)?

        Thanks in advance...

I don't think you are going to want to run a high end simulation software off a tablet anyways.

I do also like the idea of playing "real" courses. I find it exhausting to try and search for a course designed by a user to replicate a real course. And then you don't know if it's going to be any good. Are they meticulously reproducing them, or just going by memory?

One thing I love is watching the PGA on tv, and having a reference for the course they're playing. Having actually been there is best, but being able to fire it up on PC and play around it is the next best thing.

All of that said, I think TGC is still my favorite option at this point. I will certainly spend the time to create my own golf course designs.

Look fellas, Really I am sorry if my enthusiasm for TGC runs out of my mouth. I have not once said that any of these packages are no good. They will all be fun as heck to play and I intend to play them all. PG will become a great package once they get moving on some of the enhancements. I think they have a real good start. But let me make one thing clear. The courses on Redchain were professionally made and I can tell you for a fact were not made to replicate exactly the course which they were named. But many designers take hundreds of hours to replicate what you see on the TGC courses. True 3/4 of them a duplicates or junk courses. But the ones that are made by a ranked designer are all nice and most are to the letter. The one thing they all count on though is only 1 out of a 1000 people will ever step foot on most of them. We only see them on TV. So how will you actually ever know if it is right? You won't. And I dont care what they tell you about TGC, PG or E6 only a select few of us will ever step foot on most of those course. So rather than loose sleep over wondering if this is accurate. why not just enjoy the day have fun and play some golf. I can tell you they look close enough to make me think I could actually play the course if the chance ever came up.

If I may add this comment. None of us here make any money, or are paid, or receive any compensation for the sale of anything. We do this because of our passion for golf, and to help those that need it. For me playing a round of golf in January was just a dream until I found this bunch. And I have been playing with them for going on the 4th or 5th year now. And you will never meet a better bunch of guys. Personally I don't care if the green don't have the same slope, or if the fairway is missing a group of trees here or there. As long as I can play and have fun and meet new people, and bust balls with my old friends that is good enough for me. I won't ever be on tour nor will I be contending for national title. But one thing is for sure I am going to have fun this winter and god willing for many more to come.

But please if my comments have leaned you in anyway towards one product or another I am very sorry. Please do your own research and spend your own money to make the mistakes most of us have made. See you when you finally get back here.

All I can say is that they have the latest SDK and are currently working to integrate.

I see that TGC has had the newest SDK pushed over to them today, is this the same one PG has had. Be great if all sim optiopns could materialise at similar times so can make an informed decision regarding which is best bet
