    • Hey everyone New to forum here, have a question on computers. Right now im not worried about running TGC at highest settings just getting it running would work for me, my current computer is not up to the task, so I have been looking at "Gaming" Desktops on a budget that are upgradeable latter as finances allow, so can anyone tell me if this system will work?
      • AMD Eight-Core FX-8320 Vishera processor
        3.50GHz (with a max turbo speed of 4.0GHz), 8MB L3 Cache
      • 8GB DDR3 SDRAM system memory (expandable to 16GB)
      • 1TB SATA hard drive
      • AMD R7-360 Graphics
        With 2GB graphics memory
I read one post that said the r7250 is not powerful enough but is the 360 good enough or do I need to spend another 100$ and get the NVidia GTX750ti.
      thanks,

      • If you are going to go with AMD, I wouldn't go lower than the FX8350 @ 4GHz . Amd is a little weaker when it comes to gaming. TGC is not very hard on the CPU and RAM however it is extremely hard on the video card. Spend as much as you can on the video card. Use the chart at Tomshardware.com to help with your decision. Tomshardware.com is a good source when comparing computer parts. http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2...marks,186.html

You say that your current computer is not up to the task. Sometime you are better off adding a $400 video card to an old machine than building a new PC for $800. What are the specs of your current machine?

        • Thanks keither

here are the specs on my current computer: acer aspire X1420G-Athlon II X4 645 3.1 GHz - 4 GB - 500 GBNVIDIA GeForce 6150
it is a micro tower with a 220watt psu, I have looked into upgrading it but to upgrade the psu, gpu, and it will only take a 6300amd cpu max. im better off buying a better easier upgradeable tower, I just got the protee system with TGC and haven't even been able to play yet.

If TGC is not that hard on a cpu then why would the 8350 be better than the 8320 with the same GPU?
I understand the parts of the computers and have read a lot of comparisons on graphics cards, from what I can find the NVidia GTX750ti and the amd r7-360 are pretty close

          • The 8320 is close to the minimum required to play. This means that your cpu's turbo may be kicking in. This will result in your cooling fans running at higher speeds. That means more heat and noise. Also TGC is not fully optimized for the PC yet. When that happens, you will be happier with the 8350. For the extra $60 Cnd, it is a good choice. Later on when you upgrade your GPU, the cpu won't be a bottleneck. Buy a good tower that has lots of room. Welcome to TGC, you're going to love it. I have played over 75 rounds since the middle of August.

            • so you are recommending a computer more like this
              • Intel Core i5-6600K Quad-Core processor
3.50GHz (up to 3.90GHz via Turbo boost), 6MB L3 Cache
              • 8GB DDR4 SDRAM system memory (expandable to 16GB)
              • 1TB SATA hard drive
              • 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet
              • NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 Graphics
                With 2GB dedicated video memory
Like I said in the my first post Im not worried about running the system at high resolution right now just getting it running with out spending a bunch on a pc, the gaming pc's that I have been looking at run around 600$ and appear to be up gradable in the future as budget allows

              • On a budget, I wouldn't get a 6th gen i5 or i7. DDR 4 is surely not needed either. Don't get me wrong, those specs are great except for the video card. Save some money and get a 4GHz Amd and ddr 3 ram. then spend as much as you can on a video card. A GT 730 is too weak to play TGC ..... is the GT730 a typo? because that card won't play any game really. Video cards like that are designed for multiple monitors in the workplace or a HTPC. Here is another site to compare video cards. http://www.hwcompare.com/19379/gefor...eon-r7-370-2g/

                Hope that helps.

                • I think you definitely need to boost the video card to something better. As noted by others spend a little more on the video card. At least go with the GTX card that is recommended. I can promise you that after owning a 750 it would not be enough as it could barely handle software that were half as demanding as TGC.

                  • No gt730 wasn't a typo, but I was thought it might me too week, is the gtx750ti good ?

                    • I thought the gt730 might be to weak, it's what comes in that package, is the gfx750ti good?

He meant to go for a gtx770 or gtx970. A gtx760 will work, but you might not be happy with the performance.

                          • You'll need at least a GTX _60 (660, 760, 960) or GTX _70 (670, 770, 970) at a minimum.

That's what he means by .60 or .70.
