Starting my simulator build... Need a little help

I purchased a skytrak unit that will be arriving next week and I need to get something to run it. My friend is giving me a i7 2.5 dell Inspiron he had laying around so now I need to get a graphics card to run TGC when I finish my build.

Will a GTX 1070 be able to push the game smoothly at a high resolution? I will be buying a 1080p projector to shoot image onto impact screen ..

The GTX 1070 will work great! Its on average 50% faster than the recommended GTX 970. Nothing to worry about.

It may be able to run it but your definition of "no problems" would have to be pretty loose. One thing to note is that the mobile versions of NVIDIA graphics cards are not as fast as the same number card in a desktop (The 940MX will be slower than the desktop 940). If you want to run at high settings and have the motion look reasonably smooth, you need at least a desktop 970. I think the general consensus has been that if you want to use a laptop and have smooth motion with reasonably high settings, you will need a high end gaming laptop with good cooling, not an ultra thin lightweight one. Some people have had luck running the 960m and 980m graphics cards with turning detail levels down. Hopefully the new Pascal architecture used in the new 1070 which is much lower power means that the new notebook graphics cards will be powerful enough to run TGC. If I were you, I would really consider getting a desktop computer to play TGC. Now that the 1070 is out, you can pick up a 970 for around $200 on sale, a 980Ti for under $400, or a 1070 for around $400. If you need a laptop for other reasons, that one you posted seems like a good deal for a lightweight portable one. It is probably going to be cheaper to buy a desktop for TGC and that laptop than to buy a laptop for TGC.

Thanks. Because I currently don't have indoor sim setup and hit outdoors into Rukket Haack net using iPad or notebook so was looking for a portable setup. Some have suggested running on gaming PC in house and mirror screen to iPad or other tablet or mobile phone outdoors.
