I love swingprofile, i have it hooked up to my tv, unfortunately it does not fill the screen. The replay function is great especially when i am in the basement alone. Does anyone know how to change the single or buy a type of tv that displays in the horizontal position?

So, I've ugraded my laptop to something faster and with a NVIDIA graphics card, and picked up a Point Grey USB 3.0 camera and lens

I downloaded all the drivers and downloaded V1 Home, Kinovea and the trial version of Swing Catalyst. I tried to install the trial version of MotionView, but it wasn't working for me. Someone from tech support is supposed to call me today.

Kinovea seems to recognize my camera, but I'm not getting any video on the screen

V1 is getting a live feed but won't record

I had no idea how complicated this was going to be. I'm almost ready to throw in the towel and just record with a camera or iPad and transfer the video to my laptop.

No. After speaking to tech support with V1 and MotionView, I returned it and bought an IDS camera.

If so what version of Kinovea did you use (official or experimental) and what does the camera cost?

It's a UI-3140CP, and it works fine with Kinovea, V1 and any other software I've tried. It was basically plug and play.

if you don't mind me asking... what did that cost?
Can you tell me if it works with FSX at a decent FPS? The Logitech C922 I bought won't go above 30fps in FSX which is no use for me.

I just haven't spent enough time with it to give you a good review. I hurt my elbow around the same time I got everything working and I'm having surgery on the 29th.

But the camera and a Fujinon lens were $650 together.

Point280, sorry for late response. I can see shaft, no bending, not need a lot of light. I have large room with multiple LED lights. I do not need any lights above the golfer. I have lights above camera (12 foot ceiling). Thus half of room is dark except from illumination from projected image.

clubchampx9. The lens came with the camera - Imaging Source DFK23G618. Purchased through Allsportsystems. In swing analysis have been focusing on club shaft throughout swing. Will comment on club face next I use video.

I have an Xbox One collecting dust, so I ordered the adapter for Kinect and tried out Swing Guru (both the home and pro versions). I didnt like either. The apps are clunky, and the kinect camera appears to be limited to 30fps so you just dont capture alot of detail.

I did like one feature...both apps detect when you are addressing the ball, and automatically record each swing. You dont have to start/stop the recording. That was very nice, though the Kinect camera appeared twitchy enough that it would not reliably work. But when it did, it was handy.

The Pro version allows you to see a massive data table for each swing, which shows probably 20 different stats (head up/down/lateral at each position, hip and shoulder rotation etc etc etc.). It shows your values, and tour average.

The home version is very simplistic. It does give some valuable data, but I found it just too simple and the app itself was very clunky. Not worth the high cost they want for it.


So, I like the idea of video recording, but need to figure out which camera and app.

My Nexus 6P phone does very well with high-speed video..ideally I could just use that with some app that makes capture and replay very easy, and provides some data analysis
