Depends what you are trying to do exactly. You've got a few cameras, suggest starting a separate thread comparing them and defining exactly what you want to be better. There's about 50 Blackfly camera versions, they're all a perfect fit for somebody. It really depends on specific requirements.

great write up! Being we are a few years into this discussion, what would you say the best camera is to add now to get good video playback of the full swing and also close up of the club head at impact in slo-mo?

I'm looking at the uneekor system that does the video but if I can add a camera or 2 to my existing room and keep my GC2 I'd be happy.

In the dirt cheap department i haven't seen anything currently better than the kayetons i mentioned earlier for swing. They won't do impact though.

In the decent camera department the IDS 3160 is much better and can also do impact if set up properly.

Depends what you mean by "best", there are hundreds of choices each the best for something.

You want max fps? How does a billion fps sound? Is that best enough? Lol. Or can we scrape by with only a few hundred million fps (1k x1k)? Seriously. Some of these cameras are crazy. It's only money. Haha.

Ok so I'll I get the Kayeton for the DTL cam..

Let's say 1k and under for the overhead cam and lens for super clear high fps club impact video. Is there something out there in that price range that would fit my needs? I know next to nothing about these cameras other than what I read in your write up

"Super clear high fps club impact video" means to me HD-ish quality at 3000-4000 fps. So I would say no, nothing like that for $1k or even close to that.

But a lot of people are excited to see 1000 fps video even if it's low resolution. The 3160 can do that and is around your budget.

FaultyClubs, any chance you’re using FSX18? I love my 3160 as well, but lately it hasn’t been working properly in FSX and don’t know if it’s my computer or FSX. Works great in swinguru and any other program, so likely an FSX issue but can’t get any support on ids cams from them.

Also curious what lbs you’re using on your 3160?

Im interested in the 3160 can you do some low light test and regular light test at 1500 fps through the ids software?

Has anybody tried rigging a Go-Pro type camera with 720P at 120fps to record swings, in particular swing path and/or club face orientation? They are all over the place now for under $100.
