I have a net return with projector screen. My screen sits about 4 inches from the floor, and I have a metal galvanized pole in the bottom sleeve to help keep the screen taut. I have hit a couple of shots that are low and thin and they hit right above the metal pole and cause a tear in my screen. I'm trying to come up with a solution to protect this area. I'm sure stacking pillows would work, but would prefer not to have a redneck golf sim. Anyone have any ideas? Something that would also stop balls from going under would be great as well.

My previous setup was similar, but I used a PVC pipe. The PVC kept getting cracked and broken from thin misses from my friends. I never hit it thin... Lol.
I built a wooden ramp that angled toward the screen to prevent this. My screen was 10' wide, but I only needed to protect the middle. I took a 6' 2x4 and a 6' 1x12 and connected them with decking screws to make the ramp. I covered it with green indoor/ outdoor carpet, and placed it in front of the screen. Thin shots would hit the ramp and ricochet up into the screen, causing no damage. It cost about $25 at Home Depot and took 15 minutes to make. It worked great and looked good. Hope this helps!Comment

Home Depot sells foam triangular gutter guard for like $7 in 48" pieces. Not sure if it's dense enough or not, but could be an option.Comment

Bought these http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rain-Filt...G015/203009078, but they dont work worth a damn. They dont really slow the ball dowm much, and actually once it rebounds, i think it helps propel the ball back at ya.
