  • Sim buildout... almost finished.

Almost finished with building my simulator. Carpeting was installed today. Received my cg2 and just got the link to download fsx 3.01. Putting green will be installed on Monday. Could not have built this without the combined knowledge on this website. Thank you!

Looks great man! It's a sweet feeling getting it done. They're a lot of work but so worth it. What putting green are you going with? I still need to add that in mine.

Hey Brock, Thank you! I went with Synthetic turf international np55. Almost finish with the install. Just need to install the cups. Rolls out nice. 11 on the stimpmeter. Cut the CCE hitting mat into the turf... holds it in place and makes it much easier to get balls on it with your club. Looking forward to getting this finished tomorrow.

Looks sweet Spec. If the np55 is anything like the np50 you are gonna really like the way it roles. What did you use to build up subfloor to elevation of top of CCE when recessed into np55? Any tips on how to cut opening in turf to exact match of CCE would be appreciated.

Hey cspin, thanks. The np55 does roll really true. It might be a little fast... but I'm working on that. I had Carolina Synthetic turf install the green. Was not there when he cut the mat. The subfloor is not built up, the mat is a little taller than the rest. I like the way it looks, almost like a tee box. Here is the finished room.

        thanks Dax!

The club-rack stood out to me, too! This is definitely a killer set-up!

Looks fantastic, please post a pic with higher resolution, it's coming across only using about 10% of the screen. I'd like to see your setup better. The putting area looks slick.

looks great. I mean really good - just begs for someone to tee it up. One question please - the black material around the wall what that - just tarp or is it softer.

Hey Penrose, The black area is actually dark green. I installed 1/2" plywood on the walls and ceiling then had Carpet Baggers come in and install the commercial grade carpet. It looks really good. They glued it and stapled it to the plywood. They also let it go 90 degrees over the frame work. The carpet is doubled up over the frame and bungees. They did an great job installing.

What kind of cost are you looking at for the putting green mat/feature?

This is my set-up--would I even have room to attach some sort of putting green? You have a lot more room than I do.

I did the 2 different types of grass. If You just did putting green, I think it would be a good bit less expensive. Total cost for mine was around $3,300 installed. I have a couple 10' putts and one 15' putt angled across the green. Most putts are straight with one putt that has a slight break.

Hey Vdog... thanks for the comments. How do I post a picture with a higher resolution? The photo is larger...hd resolution in my photo library... but when I upload it, it down sizes it. These might be better....

can you tell me where you got the putting green and the "grass" outside the putting green - love the look. I think I want to duplicate.

Hey Penrose, it is from a company called Synthetic turf international. Here is their website... http://synthetic-turf.com/. I used np55 for the putting surface. Eric, with synthic turf of charleston installed it. Did a great job...super guy to deal with.
