I am working on a brand new build for my garage. What I know so far is that I will build a 10' x 10' frame out of either PVC or EMT. In the future, I will have an impact screen with a projector. However for now, I will be starting with just a net and a side TV.
First, I want to buy a net that can be used today to hit balls, and in the future as a backing for the impact screen. Reading that a lot of people use archery netting as a backing on the impact screen. Question is, if I use archery netting to start, is that sufficient to receive 160mph golf balls on its own?
Second, when I do add a true impact screen, does anyone have a recommendation on a sub $200 10'x10' screen?
As a side note - I find researching this information to be very 2003. Today, it's so easy to search on the web for best TV under $400 and get your results. There's such a small market for this info that research is a pain. I wish we had threads in the DIY forums like "best mat under $100", "best mid priced mat", "best overall mat", where people could provide their insight and we could have a ranked list to make the research easier.
