Conclusions on best ball for screen life

I've looked through a bunch of threads and some varying points on soft/hard balls, low spin rates, etc.

Wondering If anyone call recommend a good ball that would lend itself to long ball life. I'm not a pro, nor are my friends that play here so we won't notice 5 yds on a ball or extra spin.

I tried a few balls and found the pro v1 lasted the longest and did not have any burs or cuts on the balls

Srixon z star (yellow one) Seems to be indestructible. I have cracked and worn out many balls but the srixon keeps going. Not the best feel in the world but it works.

With the z star, my fear would be the spin skin and the additional friction on my screen

News to me that the e6 isn't a good choice!

Haven't seen any issues with my HD screen due to wear caused by balls.

I switch between Titliest NXT and Bridgestone e6. The E6s scuff more easily but both these last a long time.

The instructions that came with my HQ2 screen specifically mentioned not to use Pro V1's. I assume because of the high spin rate.

it's really the full wedge shots that tear up balls but at least the high launching shots aren't traveling that fast. it's when you don't notice the scuffs and you hit that ball with a lower lofted club into the middle of the screen that does the most damage. i'm thinking set aside a few balls only to be used for full wedges. that way a scuffed ball is less likely to get hit with the lower lofted clubs and you can inspect those balls more often.

As far as long lasting, the Srixon is a great choice. Titleist tru soft are junk and crack within a weeks use. Srixon soft feel, Q star and Z star I've used and all vary spin wise and last a long time. I have some marks on my screen but I was using wood tees in my Monster mat and they caused more scrapes and tears in the screen than any ball that I've noticed.

Yikes. It seems there are a few different opinions on balls but a common theme is to look for scuffs and scrapes.

How do you know a ball is ready to be swapped out? Any pictures of the types of scruffs that you'd remove a ball from play?
Basically, how would I know what is a damaged ball (aside from the purely obvious)

Looking to see if I can order some Srixon's. Is there a list of other hard balls that would work.

I know a lot of guys also use hard balls off the tee then switch to a high spin ball with the irons. Sometimes I just hit garbage Top flight distance balls off the tee then switch to the Srixon Z stars the rest of the hole. I have cracked more than a dozen of the Top flights but they're only like $12 for 18 balls so no big deal

I'm thinking to use a few driver specific balls then a set for the other shots.

I'm surprised that with the forum of thousands of people there isn't a specific proven winner for balls that don't rip apart screens. I've played a single round on my screen and have put way too much work into getting it set up then to have to get another screen sent 5000 miles to my house, hence the question.
