Creative advice needed for screen attachment to side walls

I just located my studs on my side walls and found out that they are not parallel. One is 16" and the other is at 13 1/2", measured from the back wall. I was originally going to use angle iron mounted to the studs. I want to stay away from the EMT frame as I only have 14' wall to wall and I want as wide of a screen as possible. Please give me feedback on the following ideas, or even better give me some better ideas. Thanks.


1. Use the angle iron below and cheat both sides in opposite directions. I think I can get within an inch of parallel. Attach the screen with bungees.

2. Use velcro on the wall and the screen. I'm not sure this would give me enough tension or strength, but would be really easy and would give me the widest screen.

You'll need something there. You can cut the drywall and reinforce the studs then re drywall. 3 cross beams will be enough and you'll need to repair only 3 holes. The other option is add a vertical 2x4 or the like and attach at the top and bottom the cover it. Id choose the 3 holes.

Could install some 3/4" plywood on the walls between the first two studs on each side. Then you can attach the angle anywhere you want evenly on both sides.

Thanks for the advice so far. If 3 cross beams will be strong enough, that will probably be the easiest. I'd love to hear any other ideas that are out there.
