  • Par2Pro SQ-Beta Impact Screen - Testers Needed

    Hey All,

We have been working on a quieter and more durable alternate to the HQ2 and have come up with the new SQ (Super Quiet) screen.

After months of working on this (and comparing to other screens current and past), we finally have it to where we think it could be a great option for those looking for a great screen.

That being said, we would love to have more testers and more feedback so we have posted it on our website at a discounted rate:

If you are interested in becoming one of our beta testers for this screen - just send me an email (cory@par2pro.com) with your required screen size and if you want it finished or raw. I will give forum members an extra 10% discount on top of the discount already posted in exchange for honest & constructive reviews and pictures.

    Happy Golfing!
    Cory

I just got a M6 screen (mounted yesterday!) but this is very tempting. Great offer Cory!

How is the durability of this compared to the HQ2? I found the durability of the HQ2 to be significantly worse than the original HQ. Also how is the picture quality of this compared to the HQ2? The picture on the HQ2 was fantastic.

The first line of Cory’s post says it’s more durable.

I’ve got one on order, but I’m in the UK, so it’ll probably take a while to come. I’ll be doing a comparison v’s my HQ2 screen when it arrives for noise and picture quality. Durability won’t be easy to assess straight away.

I’ve had my HQ2 for about 20months now and apart from a few scuff marks in my target area, it still looks pretty good. It does have a net and a memory foam mattress topper behind it to absorb any impact though.

Just a quick note that we got the screen material over to our main facility and have been shipping out a lot of screens before Christmas - so stay tuned for the reviews!

I also received my screen gut it hung last night and will do a full review in detail this weekend. My initial impression is very positive with the quality of the material. The screen hung very well and I applied a little stream from a clothing steamer and areas were the screen was folded (in shipping) flatten right out. More to follow...

Very interested to your review. Especially interested in the 'quiet' aspect. My HQ is pretty loud!

                      Hello everyone,

I purchased the SQ Beta after seeing it listed in this forum and watching their videos. This is the first screen I have bought, so I don't have a lot to compare it to. But I am very happy with the product.

I did not pay extra for the rolled-up shipping, consequently there were some mild folds when it arrived. All of them quickly disappeared a day or two after it was hung. I bought the raw screen without finished edges because we might expand the space at some point.

I believe the picture is solid and I have no issues with the sound. My son hits down there while we are a floor above him (it's in our basement), and I've never noticed the sound of the impact with the screen.

Getting buried with snow tonight, so I'll take some pictures this weekend and post them here to continue the review and give a better idea of the picture quality.

Review of SQ Beta Impact Screen Material from Par2Pro
I have had this material for a couple weeks and have literally hit hundreds of balls into it. Mostly Prov 1 balls. I have knifed balls into and also hit high spin 10k rpm wedges. My driver ball speed is about 150 mph per my GC2.
Bottom line...I have been very happy with it and would buy it again in a heart beat.

Like their website says, it is quiet with very little bounce back. I get about 1 foot of bounce back off of my driver.

I did buy the raw material with a little extra so I can eventually move to a new hitting spot when the time comes. I will also need to install more tarp clips and bungee balls. I only have one clip about every 1.5 feet with a metal conduit frame. I have clips on all sides except the bottom.

Even with this set up, there is only a small pucker where you hit the last shot. It is minimal. Par2Pro has recommended more clips or go with a finished set up with grommets. I am confident with more clips and proper tension the small pucker will be even less. I wouldn't mind if the pucker didn't go away as it is not very noticeable.

Picture is great with my projector. There is a small amount of bleed through but not much.

I was using new balls but once in a while they roll around on the dusty garage floor. I now have some dirty ball marks on the screen to clean off. Use clean balls and learn from my mistake.

I have tried everything I can think of in the past to cheap out on the screen; from painters drop clothes, tarps, mesh tarps with memory foam behind it - the list goes on and on. Save you self my headaches and simply buy this stuff. I have nothing behind it and nothing in-front of it.

                      Good stuff.

REVIEW: Par2Pro Super Quiet High Quality impact screen (SQ HQ).

First off, I'm extremely happy with my decision to go with this SQ Beta impact screen! I purchased an 8' X 14" finished screen that is currently framed with 1" EMT piping and white ball bungees (See images). I don't have a lot of other screens to compare this with, but it is very quiet, the bounce back is minimal, and the picture quality is fantastic.

The screen came in the mail folded up, but after hanging it on the frame there were no visible fold marks. Occasionally, after hitting a driver, there will be a little dent mark in the screen where the ball hit. The dent mark goes away after the next hit or if you go up and softly rub the screen. I've grown to like the dent mark on my drive as I can get a better feel for the trajectory of the launch and use it to adjust my golf swing. I've probably hit 300 balls over the last couple of weeks and there is no visibility of wear.

Again, I'm extremely happy with decision to purchase the Par2Pro SQ Beta screen (link below) and would buy it again in a heartbeat!

Thanks. I started with a Viewsonic PJD6552LWS short throw projector and although it was bright and had a 16:10 native resolution, the pixels were a bit to large so I switched to the Optoma 1080Darbee. The Optoma's resolution is a lot better, but it doesn't seem as bright and crisp as the Viewsonic.

I still need to re-mount the Optoma too and push it back so it will fill the entire screen. I'm hoping once I do that, I'll be able to play with the focus and see if it can't get a little more crisp.

                            I hope that helps.

Looks pretty crispy to me. I have the optoma 760 right now. Was debating on upgrading to darbee but wasn't sure if it was worth it. I hit pretty close to screen and can definitely see pixels. Your pic looks worth it.
                        Working...
