Is it normal for the ball to leave any type of mark on the screen? I have a Carls Premium screen and the very first time I used it the ball left marks on the screen. I had just hung it and wanted to test it out and was hitting a pw. the ball was brand new and my club was clean. I was just surprised/disappointed that after spending $1000 on a screen designed for golf that it left marks. Thinking of returning it buy not if another screen will do the same thing. Thoughts?

I just started noticing some on mine. They are only really visible when the lights are on. They are concentrated where I hit my wedges, which are black. I'm wondering if that has something to do with it, since all of the marks are concentrated high up on the screen. I have the 2nd run of direct from the mill screens. It is similar to a Carls Premium.

I have a Carl’s premium also and only hit with new balls/clean clubs. I can tell on the screen where balls have hit but it’s more of a dull spot than a mark. Only visible when the lights are on and definitely doesn’t affect a projected image.

I have the mill screen from dbgolf and before that the supertex screen. both have marks on them . Only see it when 1 to 2 feet away with no image and during the day. I do play in the garage so there is plenty of dirt where I play. Marks are not visible when the Sim is on.My courses:

I had the Par2Pro HQ2 for about 2 years, and am now using the Par2Pro SQHQ screen.
Both have the same as you mention above. I don’t think it’s logos though... I think it’s from the ball spinning so fast against the screen that it’s actually ‘burning’ it. If I feel my marks (which I can only see in certain lights and are practically invisible) they have a rougher texture to them than the rest of the screen. My new SQHQ had these marks after a couple of days.
I’m pretty sure they’re ‘friction burns’... hence why they’re all in the area where my wedges hit.

The clubs I use indoors have never been hit outdoors yet! My SQHQ screen has only ever had these clubs hitting at it, and only new balls too.
Hopefully the weather will get better soon and my clubs will see real grass!! At that point, my old ones will be getting a deep clean and becoming my ‘indoor’ set!

Well I see I am not the only one: https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...902#post147902
I was an early adopter of Carl's preferred... in fact I ordered it before they even had it on their site. Disappointing to see this is affecting other users.
It's been speculated that this is an issue with screens that are hung more taut (as mine is) than others that are installed loosely... it's still an issue I hadn't anticipated when I bought it though.

I only have my screen hung from the top. Nothing tensioning the sides and no net behind it. And I still see marks. I thought about trying to wash it to see if it was just a dirty ball.
-
That's unfortunate. Without seeing what you're experiencing it's hard to say whether washing would work or not... but I am skeptical based on my own experience.
It seems to be the nature of this and other similar products. My screen doubles as a space for presentations (it's primary function, actually), so it wasn't something I could tolerate. Mine looked awful after only a couple weeks' use.
