  • Ceiling Track for Curtains

    Hello all,

I'm hoping someone can share their experience with what they've been using as a ceiling track for curtains/drapes for their simulator. I'd like curtain/drapes on each side, and would like a setup that's visually clean and wouldn't be too expensive. I'd like to be able to use something like tarp clips to hold the curtain/drape instead of having grommets. Any thoughts or experiences you can share? Thanks!

I use a manual roll up sportscreen and retractable curtains. You can see details here https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...omplete-w-pics

Aceball: In my case I made frame out of 1" EMT for the hitting screen and made the pole on the right side go from the floor to the ceiling where it sits in flange mounts. The left side of the frame has a rubber foot under it to support it. So the whole impact screen hinges like a door. I have storage shelves behind the screen that I don't need access to that much so this works perfectly. The only tricky part for me was that I'm using a hanging baffle to protect the top bar of the screen hung using a steel cable. The right end is connected to the ceiling and the left end is connected to a piece of EMT that sticks out 12" in front of the screen. So when the "door" opens, the baffle sags down. Works great. The top panel in this setup is a completely separate frame of EMT with curtain material covering it.

So in my set up, the left and right sides are curtains on on tracks, the top is a separate panel, and the impact screen rotates like a door. It sounds more complicated than it is (maybe - I'm an engineer so overly complicated == good). I highly recommend Peaks Tarps - they custom made all my panels out of fantastic material, supplied the curtain tracks, and built the curtains with the hardware to fit into the tracks.
