  • Ceiling Track for Curtains

    Hello all,

I'm hoping someone can share their experience with what they've been using as a ceiling track for curtains/drapes for their simulator. I'd like curtain/drapes on each side, and would like a setup that's visually clean and wouldn't be too expensive. I'd like to be able to use something like tarp clips to hold the curtain/drape instead of having grommets. Any thoughts or experiences you can share? Thanks!

Look into Chicago canvas. If you call them and tell them what your trying to do they can help you with your project.

These are the ceiling tacks I used with inexpensive curtains off amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Ceiling-Curta...Bcurtains&th=1

The curtains look nice and trap & drop mishits great without being expensive. I think I paid $40 on each side.

Been looking how to setup a golf simulator for some time, have found this useful, as ever finding anything useful is difficult. I was going to use heavy weight black wool fabric, like what they have in drama studio, Think it will catch the balls well.

Then use ceiling metal curtain tracks to mount them
                Black wool serge curtains

I was going to mount the curtains to there curtains tracks here

I've agree that the IKEA VIDGA ceiling tracks appear to be a good deal. The Room/Dividers/Now Ceiling Track Set on AMAZON also looks interesting. I'm looking at Black Velvet Curtains here. They sell them for ceilings up to 10ft tall.

jharrison85 Sorry for the delay.....didn't see this. I was using an old copy of 123D Design. Unfortunately, my copy died on my computer. I'm now using Fusion 360. There's a free version if you aren't using it for business....I'm not sure but it may be "free" for only a year. It's a LOT more powerful than 123D Design but the learning curve was pretty steep for me. I've attached an example of its capability.

I haven't ordered them yet but I'm going to have side curtains made by Peak's online (http://peaksonline.net/black_industrial_curtains.html) and they sell tracks at $8/foot and do all the work of building the curtain to match and installing the carriers. Price seems comparable to other places and knowing that the curtains are built to match the tracks seems like a good idea to me.

I used EMT and eye screws to create ceiling curtain rods, was pretty cheap, easy and doesn’t look too bad.

Im looking to use ceiling mounted heavy curtains along the sides as well. I like the idea of being able to use the space between the wall and the curtains as storage or for shelving.

My question to people who have done this, how the the impact screen mounted when there is no enclosure? What are the options here? Thanks to anyone who replies, appreciate the help.

I have been thinking about this too. I have come across " the sports screen " as an option along with fancy roll up versions powered by motors.
