My new Carl's impact Screen

Very happy with the screen. I even watch movies and football on this and the picture is beautiful. My projector is 1080p so I dont know what 4k would look like but for me 1080p is fine.

I have the 10 foot wide by 7feet 9 inches (4:3). That's the biggest I can go for my space.

Have the Carl's premium from them too. Loved the screen for sure, the only thing annoying to me is that it seems no matter what screen I get I always punch a hole through it within a year/year and a half (have a net behind it too). It's definitely a nice thick screen and didn't think I would be able to punch a hole for a really long time but still managed to do it somehow at around the 12-15 month mark (try to change balls or when I see scuffs too). Holds together better than the other screens I've had with holes at least though as it doesn't open up into a giant hole right away, so was able to slide the screen down a few feet and keep on plugging away.

Having said all that, it's been the best screen I've used so far for sure with low impact sound and all. Maybe it being out in my detached non insulated garage and subject to the cold and warms of the seasons had an effect on it's longevity but who knows. Have had the hq2 and supertex screens so far as well. Hq probably made is 9 months to a year. Supertex only lasted me like 4-5 months really. I also do have a screen I got months ago from the '''direct from the mill' thread on this forum but haven't even taken it out of the box yet. Will put that up when the hole in the Carl's screen eventually gets too big for my liking that I can't move it over anymore without it going through to the net.

Not to hijack a thread but, have you always had a net behind you screen ???? Maybe it's playing some roll in the holes. I've had the "Supertex" screen for 2 years now and I do have a dimple, but no hole. I am by no means a long hitter so I'm sure that plays a role as well. But just an idea.

Yea, since day one , I've tried different things with the net being tighter, looser, touching the back of the screen, slightly away from it. I am a decent length hitter, mid 160s on my driver ball speeds, so I'm sure that has something to do with it. Was hoping it was just something in my setup and that I would eventually read something on here that worked better, but I've been on this forum a long time now and have read most of the posts about ideal setups and feel like I followed them.

The Carl's premium is nice and thick though, it's like putting 3 or 4 of the other screens together in thickness and was excited that that would hopefully last me years. It's still decent, just a small hole is all.

I'll revisit all my setup again and see the new ideas that may be out there when I eventually hang my ''mill' screen, but definitely was satisfied with the Carl's premium overall. Just have bad luck busting through these screens haha

I have their clearance preferred now. Usually they sell a batch that has some defect. When the preferred it’s a couple of grease stains at the bottom. Unless your up on it you can’t tell. Thinking of buying a clearance premium as well

For durability I was thinking of adding a hitting zone in the middle of the screen and was also thinking of rotating the screen every 6 months

another benefit of having a smaller than average sim room... I hit so close to my screen that ball dispersion is limited to a small area in the bottom right... which means I'll get to rotate 3 more times before I need to replace the screen! (in theory anyway). It's not likely that I'll suddenly start hitting as hard as Ironstrokes seems to lol, so I'll likely be set for a long time
PS Carl's Premium screens bought on clearance ROCK! I never even found out what defect mine was supposed to have
