  • Maximum Screen Size

Im looking at a 16' wide screen but im wondering if this is too big? Does anyone have one this size and is hitting from around 9-10 feet? Does that feel too big as you are standing up to hit? With 1080p and a good projector is the image pixelated still due to the size?

Also if you switch to watching a movie is the picture too large to watch without moving back another 20 feet as that is too much for me. I looked on a website about viewing angles and it said for that size screen id have to be at least 33 feet away. Thanks for any replies

I’d be curious on opinions for this. My thinking is, the bigger, the more immersive it would be.

I have 9’ ceilings so I’ll probably end up around 8.5-8.75’ high and whatever width works with my projector, but hitting from 6-7’ so I’ll be close.

Hey wundej, do you have issues with bounceback being that close? I’d like to do that as well, but am worried about being toooo close, especially on high loft clubs. But it would solve some problems for me about where to put the overhead launch monitor

Im13ft wide 8-9 feet away. It's amazing and 3 feet wider wouldn't bother me at all. Tv great too. Probably 18 ft away.

Hey Wizard, I’m 13 wide as well, playing around with tee distance to get the uneekor in a place where it isn’t obstructed by the projector. What would you think of 6 to 7 feet like wundej is thinking? Seems awfully close to me, but would work well with my setup.

My screen is 15 wide by 8.5 high and is fantastic. With a good projector you will love having the full wall in front of you the image of the course. Tv/movies are great too, we sit about 18-20 feet away from the screen

I’m going 4K because of the dual use for movies/tv, Went with the new Optoma 4k550 short throw, mount about 10 feet back for 13 foot screen, looks like about 12 feet back for 15 wide screen on projector central site. https://www.projectorcentral.com/Opt...ulator-pro.htm

Very bright because the room has some residual light when the shutters are closed.

I got the Optoma Darbee1080. It was around $700-800. My basement isn’t finished and I couldn’t rationalize dropping $3-4k on a projector yet. Especially since once I finish the basement the prices should drop quite a bit
