anti-rebound ideas?

I have an emt frame with a screen that attaches via awning clips. Occasionally the ball hits the emt crosspiece at the top of the screen on wedge shots resulting in an aggressive rebound. The emt is currently wrapped in standard pipe insulation, but it is not terribly effective at slowing down the ball's rebound.

What do others use to coat their emt frames to reduce rebound on errant shots?

Create a baffle of some type in front of the emt.

I placed netting on my EMT setup. It's a cage and I pull the netting tight such that there is a clearance, about 6 inches, between the net and the top EMT bar. I also put some tough foam pipe rap on the top EMT in the center where the ball most likely will hit. Still, I hit the EMT once, although the rebound was acceptable.

If the EMT is right next to the ceiling you could staple a flat piece of 1-2" foam rubber to the ceiling and let it hang down a few inches below the EMT. Worked for me.
