Screen: Original direct from the mill material

Does anyone have input into what side to use for this material? One side is really white, the other side almost seems like it has a coating and is off white. I chose to use the really white side. It seems rather abrasive on balls, I am wondering if I chose to use the wrong side. I've seen ball logo marks from just a few hits.

I'll appreciate any thoughts on the topic. I'm getting close to completion on a new build and don't want to ruin a new screen. dbgolf72 can you help me out?
