If I wrap commando cloth on the top of my 5ft deep enclosure will I need anything else to protect the ceiling? How strong is commando cloth and can it take a pretty good shot?

Is commando cloth all you need for ceiling protection?

Commando Cloth is what I believe a lot of the enclosure kits come with for side and ceiling protection and has been discussed here on the forum. Here is a link to the material:
Chicago Canvas & Supply's 16 oz. Black Commando Cloth is an economical fire resistant fabric ideal for masking. Available from 4'6"- 9'10". Order online.
gunghogolf also mentions this in his enclosure build page: https://gunghogolf.com/blog/diy-impact-screen-enclosure
The room I'm building my enclosure in has a ceiling fan that I must protect / preserve and I though I had it all figured out. Was going to put EVA foam puzzle mat glued to the bottom of 3/8 inch thick plywood: https://www.amazon.com/BalanceFrom-E...s%2C160&sr=8-5
So I got the wood and cut it into 2ft x 5'4 inch sections to be easier to handle and decided I would try putting it on top of the enclosure that I've built. I'll start by saying it kinda works, but I was noticing the weight of the plywood was making the enclosure a little unstable so I was looking for alternatives to the plywood route. I eventually ordered this:
22 oz mesh tarp from Gemplers after looking at a quick product overview on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoIDM3ftIlE&t=39s

I have extra netting and did order 3 yards of the Commando Cloth just to get a good sample of it and test it out in some other places on the frame. I'm still in build mode and waiting for the rest of my material to show up. Ordered the Par2Pro RAW SQ Screen and interested to see how well it performs. First time sim builder here and just going off advice that I've gathered from the forms here. So far so good though. Got some great cheap blackout curtains from amazon that work great for side protection. I have a dynamax net backing up the curtains an it works great. Just need to get the ceiling taken care of.

Any updates on this? I am at this step in building my golf enclosure and I am too looking for something to cover the sides of my emt cage. I'm also looking at this https://www.ebay.com/itm/24pk-Charco...kAAOSwvytcEcGp for the ceiling.
Thanks!!!

Here is my update. I received my 3 yards of fabric. It's decent thickness. I opted to not use it. I went with a super heavy duty mesh tarp which is probably overkill, but makes me feel much safer in the room that I'm hitting in.

I think others have had good luck with lighter weight tarps, but my enclosure is in a sunroom with windows and glass everywhere, so I can't chance anything. Much more expensive to replace glass vs drywall repair.
Overall it could probably be used and work to catch errant shots. Not sure how it would handle a really hard shot if the material was tight, but I think it would probably work. For me I feel a little safer going with netting and mesh tarp, but I'm in an all glass room. I think if this was in my garage I would have been fine with the material.
