I am looking to build a DIY enclosure loosely based off the "Gung-Ho" DIY. I have ordered a impact screen from Carls. It is 12'x8' and has finished edges with grommets. I will be finishing with carpet runner and pipe insulation. My question is what dimensions do I make the enclosure to make sure it has the right tensions for the screen? Assuming it will need to be oversized obviously I have the 6" ball bungees to secure the screen

It doesn't look like Carls has cut specs for 12x8 yet, but they do have 12x9 and 8x10. So you could just take the measurements from each of those.

You would cut 6 1" EMT pipes to 68 7/8", then the vertical pipes (4 of them) would be 95 1/4".
The fittings add a little length so it would be 8.33 inches tall, by 12.2 inches wide, perfect to bungee the screen on.Last edited by pDubs; 08-27-2020, 05:02 PM.

I just ordered a 150x110 screen 12'6'' x 9'2''. I'm building a 12x9 frame and I'll leave about 4-5 inches on top and both sides and fold with tarp clips the rest of the screen on the sides. I wish I could go wider but it's not in the cards.
