How heavy do side curtains need to be?

I'm doing a sim in my garage, and I'm looking at various side protection options. Wondering if something like these would work, or if they need to be heavier:

I'm not worried about sound (I'm installing acoustic insulation and MLV between the drywall), so it's just about preventing damage.

I just ended up using black out curtains that I got on Amazon. They were under $30 for a set. The grommets on top fit perfectly on 1” EMT. I then have them secured to the screen using button snaps. Haven’t had an issue with a ball getting past them yet.

I purchased these from Amazon for about $45 for 10' tall curtains. Work great. To fit my rustic decor, I hung them from galvanized steel plumbing pipe. I sewed two 52" panels together for each side.

How far are you tee to screen? That seems really close. I'm going to be about 10 feet so I think I need more than one set per side.

Sorry for the delayed response...my tee position is 9'2" from the impact screen. I have two 52" curtains sewed together on each side.

I am looking at using the same type of curtain for the sides, but what did you use for the ceiling baffles and do they work effectively?

For my 9.5' Wide x 10' Long x 9.5' Height EMT enclosure. My setup is:

1) 8'x10' black curtain - on the left side - I only plan to keep the curtain at 5 to 6 feet wide because I will be 10' from the screen. It is unlikely that could pull the ball so bad that the 5' wide curtain could not catch it.

I need the curtain here so I can slide it in to give my wife room to park her minivan.

2) Top and Right side - 40 oz super heavy duty black tarp 10' x 20' ($370). I will wrap this tarp around the enclosure from the top to the right side and tuck the 1' extra under the landing mat. This tarp is so heavy, I am confident enough to have the tarp 6" from the wall. The whole 10' x 20' vinyl tarp weights 56 lbs.
