Hi, does anybody know if hook velcro will stick to this material and if it would be durable enough to use for trim around my screen? I was thinking of having a strip of industrial strength hook velcro sewn around the edges of my screen and on the walls and ceiling and sticking this material on. My screen is going to be 16'x9' and this seems like a relatively inexpensive option. Does anybody have any experience with this material?

Yeah, if you google spectropile you get a ton of places selling it, but here is the first one that popped up:

No particular reason. I actually started my search with this site. They call it a "boat blanket" but in the description it says it's a spectropile fabric. The middle image where she's holding it between her fingers makes it look like it would work well. Either way, if it's looking like it would be around $100 total for the trim which isn't bad.
Boat Blanket Fabric is an extremely durable, protective Spectropile fabric. This solution-dyed non-woven, plush polyester has a soft outer surface that acts like the loop side of Velcro.

I know this sticks to Velcro, it’s what I used to trim out my screen, wrapped Velcro around my emt poles and it sticks nicely directly to it. https://www.menards.com/main/floorin...imaryMeas=72.0Last edited by wbond; 01-15-2021, 03:25 AM.

Perfect, thanks! Have you ever had it take a direct impact? How does it hold up? My first attempt at a sim I used carpet runner from home depot and it ripped on the first hit it took.Originally posted by wbond View PostI know this sticks to Velcro, it’s what I used to trim out my screen, wrapped Velcro around my emt poles and it sticks nicely directly to it. https://www.menards.com/main/floorin...imaryMeas=72.0

I don't mind paying a little bit more if it's better quality but the specs look the same so I'll go with the cheaper one if you guys can attest to the quality. At 16'x9' I'm not too worried about it taking too many direct hits but I'm sure it will happen.Originally posted by Stetson View PostThat stuff from Menards is exactly what I meant in my post about finding cheaper
