  • Cleaning screen

Hi, in my simulator build I used the SQ screen. It has served me well but I sometimes use impact tape on my irons which leave black marks on the ball. I noticed some black marks on my screen from the balls. I was looking for a recommendation to clean the screen. Any suggestions?

Carl's Place has a YouTube video on how to clean a simulator screen, I've never tried it.

I’d suggest a damp microfiber cloth with some mild soap. If that doesn’t do it, a Magic Eraser usually works, just be gentle with it. Always test a small corner first to make sure it doesn’t dull or damage the screen.

I had some dirty marks on my old one when I fitted it - I think it picked them up from being on the floor.
I used some carpet cleaner on a microfibre cloth, and made sure I used loads of water to wash it out after.

The rule in my house is you either use my indoor clubs... or you make sure you clean them before playing.
No chance of transferring dirt to the screen in there is none in the first place!!

I go one further and "volunteer" to clean my guest's clubs ......

I just recently finished building my sim and started to practice on the range. Imagine my shock when I found that Sharpie alignment marks were showing up on the screen. I used a microfiber cloth saturated with 90% isopropyl alcohol followed by dish soap and water. I finished with a spray bottle of distilled water to help prevent rings. Turned out great. The YouTube video is helpful, but only if you take your screen down and clean it on a hard surface like he demonstrates.
