Hey folks I’ve been designing this build myself and could use some advice. My garage has pretty tall 11 foot ceilings and is pretty wide along the screen wall at 18’ 8”.
I want to do a very nice looking permanent install.
As you can see I have some garage cabinets that I want to put along the left side for storage.
I can secure the screen to the right side wall and to the ceiling if needed. I would shield the cabinets on the left from impacts with a heavy retractable curtain.
So my first question is what to attach the screen to on that left side. Should I frame out a small 2x4 wall about 12-14 inches and attach it there ? Will it be strong enough? I suppose if I anchor that little wall to the floor and ceiling it would hold, the tension from a screen pulling inward shouldn’t be that much.
Please ignore my screen height for now as I’m not sure what size to fit. I want to go about 15’ wide but with 11.25’ height, I’m not sure whether to go 4:3 or 16:9. And this picture is a little weird because my software won’t hold the screen off the wall 12 inches like a golf sim.
