  • Screen excess at bottom

I see discussions on screen height and width, but not on how much screen should be left at the bottom draped onto the ground?
It is a cleaner look at zero extra, but I understand you can lose balls behind. Is 6" enough? Too much?
I'm getting the 2 sided screen from swing sense and they have avoided answering this question directly.
    Thanks

You don't need much really. A few inches maybe to keep the screen just loose enough to absorb the impact of the ball better. Any more than that and you might get some ugly bulges/wrinkles in the lower half of the screen. I bought my screens from Par2Pro. They come with elastic rope that goes through a loop at the bottom of the screens and holds the bottom in place. I have the couple extra inches at the bottom, but didn't really need it in my screens. When I have to get new ones I'm going to have them made a little shorter.

I actually have my screen flush with the ground, but have a net behind the screen, and the bottom of the net is supported by bungees. Works pretty good! Screen flips up upon impact, and comes back to rest flush with ground. This way there are no wrinkles in the screen. Just another thought to consider.

Good inputs, thanks. I had anticipated that when the screen came and back up that the ball may fall straight down and end up behind the screen. It sounds like that really isn't a problem? I like the idea of no extra aesthetically. Now I'm wondering if they put grommets on all four sides?

Found answer, no grommets on bottom.
