I had to build a platform on the floor as it was so un level which I made from cut down 4x2 and 18mm osb, I managed to get the indoor bowling green that a local leisure club was getting rid of for the turf and a real feel hitting mat that is 1ft x 2ft cut into the centre of the room.

That's looking great guys. Luckily you have plenty of space. I looks like I may need to raise the shed roof as only have around 8.8ft to play with. I should be ok width wise with 10ft and length 16ft.

Hi all, are the UK builds still restricted to nets as projection screens without importing the HQ screen from Cory. The price of the screen is good but the shipping charges are nearly as much. I'm thinking i will start with a net as i build and then when i'm finished look to get the HQ imported but was wondering if anyone has found a decent HQ here in the UK yet?

I couldn't find much either but the netting is a good place to start and is a actually fairly decent picture , I did import a HQ screen from par2pro and it was well worth it , night and day difference.Comment

Great to see some UK sim builders!
I'm hopefully about to embark on this adventure too in my new house in Sussex. The forum is proving a valuable learning ground to get lots of tips and ideas from, so thanks all, keep posting lots of pics!
On the screens, main reseller in UK seems to be these guys...
Maybe Cory Par2Pro would do a group buy discount on screens if we get enough of us and he has stock coming...?

I am just about to order my steel frame and think i am going to use the same place that you have listed above as i cant really find anywhere else. Did you get the 19mm tube and connectors as they don't sell 1" connectors on their site. How have you found this, is it still sturdy?

Hi, I used that place for my frame and went for 27mm. If doing it again, I'd go with the next size up. The frame is strong but depending on how much tension you are putting on the surrounding netting, the frame can bend ever so slightly. I've also seen a local fitters frame and they use about 1.5" tubing and it's a proper supplied frame.

I've almost finished my second attempt at a simulator room in my garage.
My first attempt was done fairly cheaply, using an archery type screen from golftechsystems. I've never really been happy with it, and have started again - this time spending the money I should have spent the first time.
I'll be posting a new build thread of how I've done it this time soon. I've imported most of my stuff from Par2Pro, and have a system that allows the whole thing to disappear in a couple of minutes and my cars can still go in the garage!Comment

Sounds good p3eps look forward to seeing it. Mine has been a bit long and hard going so far as i didnt quite have the height that i was hoping for so have just paid to have our detached garage roof raised with reinforced rafters to get rid of the trusses so i have an open pitched roof now. I will hopefully be insulating and fitting a new floor at the weekend so i can finally get started. Ive got the frame, net and clips on order and already have a skytrak and hitting strip. Just the screen, projector and turf to get.

I got a new floor too! I went for a wetpour safety surface - which is essentially a rubberised surface that you'd normally find in a playpark.
It means that the balls bounce off the screen and then deaden when they hit the floor. My previous painted concrete meant the balls bounced about like a ping pong table!!
I got my frame from themetalstore too. I went with the 26.9cm tube clamps. It's very solid!Comment

Hi all, what throw distances are you using?
I have the new floor laid now and about to cut my frame to size but dont want to mess it up
I have had to turn and hit the other way now as a reinforced rafter was in the way. I can fit a frame size of 15ft x 8ft but want to fill the whole screen (or near) up with the image. I guess 16.9 will be the best fit. I can project from about 10ft.
