  • Side Curtains

OK...after much help from all of you forum members, I'm on to one of my last items. Side curtains. I'm not finishing my basement walls anytime soon, so am looking for heavy weight, heavy duty side curtains to hang a couple feet from the wall for the occassional stray shots. I've found some pipe and draping that might fit the bill, but it's hard to get a feel for fabric that would work by looking at pictures on the internet. Anyone have anything that they've used that works well?

Shouldn't be too hard to find.

Just searched this whole thread and I see a bunch of people doing different things. I was aiming for free hanging side curtains that I can retract when I'm not playing. So something that would have to be heavy weight. I'm finding some theatrical curtains that might fit the bill but they are all "call for a quote" which leads me to believe they would be extremely expensive or only sold in bulk sizes. Anyone else have any experience?

rosebrand.com has what you need. Get a bunch of sample then decide.

This site has tons of options. If the Amazon curtains don't work out (they're cheaper), I'll be going this route. Thanks!

These are the ones I got off of Amazon. I'm liking them a lot. They are pretty thick and very reasonably priced. Ordered 3 packs because they come in 52 inch wide sections. Put 3 on each side and can always Velcro them together if you want it to be one giant curtain, but they overlap nicely and haven't had the need to do that myself yet. And best part is Amazon takes everything back haha, I'd absolutely recommend them.

These look real promising and the cheapest I've seen. Thanks for the suggestion!

Test hung these curtains last night and hit some full p-wedge and 7-iron swings right into them. They held up perfectly! Thanks for the recommendation. I think these are going to work very nicely.

Yea I noticed that same thing too with some unfortunate shanks into them haha, but never tried straight into them before. Awesome stuff! Glad they worked out well

Do either of you guys have a picture of how they look when hung in your setup? Once I get the garage insulated I really want to make my setup look more professional, and side curtains would look nice.

I "test" hung them just to gauge their efficacy. Basically threw nails in my joists and slung them over. I didn't get tracks yet, so my pictures probably wouldn't be what you were looking for. I'll be throwing pictures up of my project once I get it finished.

The picture I took yesterday didn't come out great so here's one of when I just first put up the curtains last summer before I got my green carpet for the floor to cover up the cement areas. I feel it's even better for watching movies out there, the.curtains just give me more of a cinema feel for whatever reason

Nice setup. Can you post a closer pic of your skytrak protection?

IRonstrokes, nice looking setup you got there. I have a garage with the exact hip square roof, I was wondering how far off the wall you have the net. My garage looks exactly like yours and I Was thinking if I come off the wall around 1 foot, the height of the roof is about 9 foot, I need to come off about 2 feet to get a 10 foot height but then I lose a lot of room. Thanks!!

I'm actually about 19 or 20 inches or so from the wall I believe. Had the same idea, needed to be far enough from the wall to get to the 9.5 to 10ft screen height area I wanted but didn't want to come out too far to take away garage space. Sounds like your dimensions are almost exactly what I was dealing with. Felt like the 18-20 inch from the wall was a good compromise. Don't think 2ft away would have hurt me much at all though as well if you are leaning toward getting the extra screen height. I just wanted to make sure I had enough room to park cars in there when it snows. My car is a 2014 dodge avenger and bigger than my girlfriend's car and that fits in there nicely with a good foot and a half gap in front of the car before the screen and the same behind the car to the garage door. The curtains are awesome for being able to get the great ambiance but can push them back or hang then up on the wall to get them out of the way when needed.

Thanks, posted some pictures in the protecting skytrak thread in response to this.

So I received my ST today and love the accuracy/ease of use. However, it makes me nervous having it so close and slightly in front. Anyone have any protection
