In my setup, my projector is a couple feet diagonally behind me and I'm worried that wedge back swings might hit it. Has anyone built or bought a simple protective enclosure? Or has anyone offset their projector from center and used keystone correction? Since I have to hit off center, the projector is in a precarious place behind me.

I did not build one but purchased one. you can see it in the 2nd picture. Of course, you have to make sure your projector fits inside.

I built one with two products available from home depot. First you need a storage basket slightly larger than your projector. It should have holes in it around the sides for air flow. Next you need a piece of clear plastic larger than the bottom of the basket. They have different ones available I used the most clear one they had. You also need adhesive to glue the "glass" to the bottom of the basket. You will of course have to cut out the bottom to allow for the projector to see thru. I cut out the entire bottom but you could cut out just enough to allow the lens to shine thru the "glass". You need to attach to your mount it whatever way necessary to have it stay in place. This will indeed save your projector from those crazy golf balls flying around. Mine has been hit many times. The "glass" has a crack but no damage to projector.Comment

My projector is probably a foot and half or so off center to the right on the ceiling (the garage door opener was in the way. Did some slight keystoning and just made sure the picture was lined up in the middle and has worked great for me. I dont notice any change in quality when I checked it non keystoned and afterwards.Comment

I was planning on trying something like this and just cut a hole for the lens.
