looks great congratulations on the job so far almost there I was looking on what type of sim system you running nothing in the thread and is this more a man cave thought for all sorts of fun in the future or designated sim room

Finished with major construction. Now on to painting and cutting out speakers and wall plates etc.. looking about a week or 2 out from actually playing some golf..

Was wondering if you have a materials list and cost you would't mind sharing. If i can't get my garage to work, I will be looking tondo the same thing. How tall ate your walls? 8-10ft? Thanks in advance

Walls are 10ft. Peak of ceiling probably about 12-13ft

About 2 weeks from being finished now.. gotta do some more of the ceiling and sanding, painting etc then on to decorating, hanging projector and screen and finishing up...

I'll update with some numbers when I total them up. Materials alone for building are probably approaching $3500-4000. In done buying anything for building at this point. Total cost with everything is around $8500

That'd work for sure. Maybe you can find them in all black. I could only find them locally at lowes in children's rainbow colors...

yeah, lol I figured as much haha.. still the carpet tile is like no more than 1/4 inch thick and just stuck on the wall, I was thinking at least 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch interlocking tiles or something along that line...

Carpet tile on TOP of drywall or plywood. Lol.

Yes, just carpet tile on studs would be very flimsy.

I would also recommend black egg crate foam sections stapled to whatever wall material you go with, drywall or plywood.

Some guys glued carpet tile for damage and sounds like it works pretty well it would also help absorb sound. I know it's a bit extra work but from impact screen back 8 feet you could wrap with plywood and carpet tile or whatever you like and switch to drywall through the back half.

carpet tile seems kind of flimsy, no? I had bought some thinking of doing the floor with it and it was paper thin so i returned it. I am thinking of doing maybe the interlocking tiles that gyms use for flooring that take impacts from dumbell etc... like a 4x4 area on left and right and above screen, maybe even 6x6. just don't know what thickness to use? maybe 1/2 inch or 3/4 to take the occasional direct hit from a family member...

its not you hitting the walls at all its the echo of the shot that I am talking about blankets or something would do to absorb noise, Think of it this way take your hammer and drop it on the plywood and do this on drywall it is very different the same goes for the driver to ball shot but not that exaggerated, I think after an hour or so your head would be killing you and you might be reaching for ear plugs as 5 sides are bouncing off the sound. just food for thought.

Hmmm, I never thought of that, I was just worried about about someone putting a ball right through the drywall lol. I want it to look as finished as possible without a cage surrounding the screen. I'm gonna have to find a solution for wall/ceiling protection
