Do the all-sport systems frames have side supports that allow you to tension the sides of the impact screen? I am deciding between all-sport and a par-2-pro enclosure for an upgrade to my NetReturn. My main requirement is to be able to keep the screen nice and flat (the netreturn is a bit wrinkly due to no side poles to tighten it on).
No side poles where the screen mounts. The screen mounts along a top pole, and, at bottom, via two eyelets on each side, to the bottom poles. I haven't yet figured out how to get the screen very flat along the vertical edges. The screen width is the same as the frame, making tensioning difficult. Thinking about it just now, I realized I could run something vertically, like PVC or 2x4 wood, on the outside of the frame, to which the screen edges could be attached.
The super bay does have side poles. The screen they give you only have holes on top so I had to get some "clips" to tie the sides. My screen is a little wrinkly but cannot see any wrinkles playing golf or playing a video game, but sometimes during a movie you can tell the screen is not flat. if you search you will see my day by day build. I have some changed some things so will post a current pic later today.
Slight delay in my build. Turns out that I ordered the wrong depth netting and allsportsystems is taking care of it by sending me a new one. The drawback is it will take a few weeks so I'm delayed. Attached is a picture of my progress. Hard to wait!
How you going to get out looks like you covered both openings
Funny! I do plan on spending a lot of time in there. This is a finished attic and the openings you see are the back of the room, they are 2 small areas that lead to window dormers. The room opens up on the other side where I will eventually add some seating.
I have installed the netting and the screen. I've run into a problem. It appears that the EMT is not rigid enough for a 16' length and the screen sags from the center. The first picture shows the sag and the second shows me providing support in the middle. Anyone have any suggestions to help with this?
Vadawg,
One option would be to post tension that piece of EMT to the ceiling in a couple spots. Thin gauge copper wire works good for this. All it would take is a couple of eyebolts screwed into the ceiling, and then a piece of wire from the EMT up to the eyebolt. Pull the frame up to the height you want and then bend the wire around the eyebolt. Quick fix to eliminate the sag without upgrading pipe and fittings.
I think you should have a another pipe running across the enclosure. I have 3 running from side to side. The sides of course and then one about 1.5 feet from the back one.
