  • Budget friendly build!

Just letting all that are on the fence due to budget constraints that it is possible to have a cool golf sim still. I have a total of $93.00 in my screen and frame! I used 2 10oz canvas drop cloths 9x12 stacked on top of each other with egg crate in between held to enter by tarp clips. Works great and surprisingly good image! I found a BenQ MW632ST on Craigslist for $300. I went with a CCE mat from Costco for$249. Remnants from Synlawn locally $60. Skytrak from RBG with 10% off code. About $2700 and up and running. Now I need a cheap pc to run TGC and I will be all set. My daughter is a fan as well!!! Not as pretty as many on here but allows me to play while still making ends meet!

The fact that you have the cutest little fan will make it worth it. Looks like she is ready to watch Daddy hit some golf balls!!!!!

Look on your local CL, gamers are always upgrading. You can usually find something and save a lot of dough.

Haha that's awesome. With how young the girls get on tour nowadays it seems, she's probably got like 10 years to get ready for the majors 2027!

My little girl is 21 now but I remember trying to get her to play golf. We lived on a course and every time I took her out she would eventually find a sand trap and start playing in it and lose interest in the golf.....lol to this day, she is a beach person.

Hey Roobob. Looks good. I'm using a canvas tarp too but have only been hitting foam balls. I'm curious how long you've had this setup and how's the tarp holding up? Also, I'm a bit confused on how you have it setup. Are you saying you have the egg crate foam sandwiched between the two tarps or do you have the two tarps on top of each other and the foam directly behind them?

JB, I have been using it about two weeks now. Hitting real balls for at least an hour a day. At first I had one tarp hung and blew a hole the second day with driver. I took the tarp with the hole and doubled it for the back layer, egg crate in center and new tarp on top. Then hung it all with the doubled tarp located in the impact area. Like a burger with the tarps being bun and egg crate being meat. Seems to be holding well so far and bonus, balls just fall straight down with no rebound. Since I am "bragging" about my Redneck setup, it will probably fail tomorrow!! Lol. My thinking was simply I can buy a lot of 10oz drop cloths for the price of an impact screen!

My thoughts exactly just didn't think it would work. Time will tell I guess. Harbor freight has the 9 x 12 10 oz for about $17.

How did you manage that? On the RBG product page for the Skytrak it says "additional discounts may not be applied".

Which code did you use? I don't know of any 10% ones, but the 5% ones don't work. (It says "Discount does not apply to any items in your order".)

They got wise and eliminated the code stacking for this.

The code PayPal was giving 10%. It worked for a couple weeks but they stopped it!
