Hi guys,
First time poster. Love the site and the community. I just bought a new house with a 3rd port garage that I want to try to put in a golf sim. I am planning way before I have even moved in but the excitement is killing me. Room specs are 21'' deep, 10'' wide, but only 9" 4' high. I know I will have to offset but I am 6'' and did some SLOW practice swings and I am close on my driver; my fear is if i stand any taller or higher I will hit. The good news is the rafters do go the same direction as the sim so I might be able to swing between them if I take out the drywall. Raising the rafters may be too much work as the master bedroom is above.
Question 1:
On average, is the swing usually higher on the back swing or the follow through. Because of the current storage I could not fully swing to practice to verify but I was thinking if it was one or the other I could just make sure I am between rafters.
Question 2:
Does anyone have a sim/mat recommendations. I was going to go with the Pro Tee but i'm worried that the sensor matt is just too thick. Would a standing sensor make more sense because it would sit on top of a mat? Should I just plan on losing x inches for the floor no matter what sim i use? Are there good hitting matts that are quite thin or am I going to break my hands hitting onto concrete below.
Thanks for any advice!
