Was curious if anyone has any experience with the fiberbuilt flight deck? I'm curious it weighs 5 pounds so if it would be stable enough to use in the garage and not have it slip around. Using something like this seems a lot cheaper than spending 300 to 500 on a full size 3x5 or 4x5 mat from them. I already have a matzilla so i was thinking i could use that as a stance mat to hit it, or maybe even get 1 1/4 mdf and cut out a slot for it, or cut out a slot for 2-3 feet of just the fairway grass.

It's made out of the fiber built fairway grass which I've heard is one of the best surfaces to hit off. It would need to be built in to something so it didn't move around though. They sell 12x12 strips for 40 so 2 of those weeks be a better deal if that's the roure I'm going anyway.Last edited by taylor310; 06-06-2017, 02:34 PM.

Where do you get the fibebuilt strips. I'd like one to build in to my own take down mat, the flight deck looks interesting, but it's an odd shape to build around.

I have had a flight deck for a few weeks and initial impression is that it's a whole lot more forgiving on my joints than my current mat. Because I'm still playing outside I haven't had a chance to use it for any length of time, but so far I like it a lot. I bought the smaller flight deck to give it a shot before a) investing too much in a larger setup and b) hacking up my current mat to insert the hitting strips.
To answer the original question, it does move quite a bit on my concrete floor. Haven't played with it too much to see how I can anchor it but I'll work on that soon.
