Does anyone have any suggestions for materials to use under an impact screen to absorb the ball bounce and keep the ball in place? Screen is 10ā wide.

I have tried many combinations, and the perfect solution for me was imediately behind the screen, I have heavy duty moving blanket and then behind that a hear black tarp. The moving blankets and tarp are just handing from the top and hang loose.

I think he is referring to flooring between the base of the impact screen and hitting mat, not something behind the screen. At least that is how I read it. If that is the case I also am looking for a solution for a setup that I am doing in my garage that needs to be able to be put away when not in use

Just reviving this thread to see if anyone has found a good solution. Iām thinking about laying a memory foam mattress topper on the ground in front of my screen. But I want my solution to last and be easy to put down and pick up. And possibly not look terrible. Any ideas?Last edited by chili; 04-30-2019, 03:54 AM.

I bought some cheap Lowes carpet padding and put their astro turf stuff over it. Ball will still bounce but not like crazy.
The real improvement for me was taking some of the carpet padding, rolling it up and wrapping a sheet, cloth, whatever around it so you have a kind of bedroll, long pillow thing about 8-12 inches in diameter at the bottom of the screen for the ball to fall onto. Also keeps the suspended (a few inches above the floor) screen from swinging back and forth as much if the roll thing is against bottom of the screen. Saves a lot of shots from careening around in side my garage.

I have not built it yet but I was thinking of making a PVC frame. The pvc would be raised enough to keep the ball from rolling out and would be very lite. Could just hang it from ceiling or lean it against the wall when not in use. I am thinking of using some of the long grass astroturf that can be found online to limit bounce/rolling and for looks as well
