  • Mat recommendation

I purchased a 5'x5' mat from All Turf Mats about a year ago. The mat is decent quality by my biggest issue is that when you hit a shot fat, I mean just a little bit fat, the distance loss is horrible. (no funny comments please - lol) Yeah I know I need to hit better shots but I'm looking for a little better mat. Here is the link to what I have.

Looking for suggestion of a mat that is 5'x5' that is a little better quality, with more forgiveness, and doesn't leave marks on the clubs.

If you don’t plan to use it any further, you can cutout a section and drop in a fiberbuilt mat, divot action inset or truestrike insert

You can use your allturfmat for standing on and use a hitting strip without cutting a hole in your mat. I bought a Fiberbuilt hitting strip and I'm very happy with it. There are many threads on this site addressing your particular problem.

Wbond & Petroche have given you great advice, and it's cheaper on your pocketbook! The Fiberbuilt, divotaction, & truestrike (or DIY equivalents) probably offer the least punishment on your wrists etc.. "Feel" is personal preference. Some guys want to maximize golf "realism", but once I hit 50 realism went out the door and "be kind to my joints" was the order of the day LOL

BTW if you happen to be in the Vancouver, Canada area, I have a couple of extra Fiberbuilt 1'x1' squares I'd sell for 1/2 the new price

I'm nowhere near Vancouver. I haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet although I'm leaning on the Fiberbuilt option. Thanks for the advice!
