Experience Inserting Fiberbuilt hitting insert into CCE?

Does anyone have any experience inserting a 1x4 or 1x3 fiberbuilt hitting insert into a CCE Mat? If so can you please walk me through how you cut the CCE mat and how you adjusted for the height difference? Thank you!

Just did it 3 weeks ago the 1x3 into CCE. Well I got a handyman guy from Thumbtack , I was afraid of messing up.
What I can tell you is that you'll pick up the CCE and flip it over to cut from the bottom.

How he did that part I wasn't watching. triplebogeysrbetter prob can elaborate, you use an razor bladed cutter I think. Now this guy had to further shave down some the leftover edges it didn't fit perfectly at first.

Last week I had this old thin packing foam I placed in three layers below the fiberbuilt turf to absorb shock but mostly to even out the heights. The fiberbuilt was just a pinch lower maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch.

I'm having wet bar installed so there's some construction. It's a 5 by 10 cce. I think others with a smaller one put it on the immediate left or right sometimes

I would flip it over as well. Align up the fb and trace out the outline. I would then cut on the line using a heavy duty razor knife. Once completed you might need to shave slightly to ensure a tight fit

perfect, thanks guys.. I have two CCE mats a 5x5 and a 4x5 next to each other... so far I haven't had the elbow and wrist issues that others have had but I'm thinking about switching it up before I do. I'm just hesitant to move away from a mat that I can drop a tee directly into but it's probably worth it to save the body.
