  • Best mat for lifelife feedback including fat hits?

All winter, I have been hitting off an old mat salvaged from a discard pile at the local outdoor driving range.

Playing the first couple of rounds of actual outdoor golf this year, I find I am hitting a lot of fat shots (but did not notice this while playing on the sim).

Is there consensus here which mat produces most lifelike feedback, especially for fat hits?

Fiberbuilt mats will lead to decreased distances when hit fat but will not cause you joint pain or injury from repetitive use. Good luck!

Truestrike is the best I've found but it isn't perfect. Non of them are but the old range mats were notorious for "correcting" fat shots. Fiberbuilt and Truestrike are the leaders at this time.

I have tried several and would agree the Fiberbuilt would give you the feedback in the numbers. To me it is more like a fat shot on the course, yes, you move the ball forward but you get the reduction in distance. With the Fiberbuilt you won't kill your wrist and elbows. After a good couple of months on the Fiberbuilt, I know instantly if I have hit it fat.

          Thanks for the recommendations guys.

So can I buy a Fiberbuilt strip and place it alongside my existing mat just for stance elevation? Link below.

The standalone Fiberbuilt Grass hitting panel is a replacement component for our Fiberbuilt Grass Series Hourglass Pro Mats and is 35″ long and 11.75" wide. (Note: this is a standalone hitting panel and does not include a stance mat or rubber base.) 11.75" x 35" (nominal sizing) Fiberbuilt Grass Hitting Surface On-Cour

I have a CCE mat that was hurting my joints so I did exactly what you are suggesting. I bought a 3 insert Fiberbuilt strip and put a rug gripper under it and partially under my CCE mat so that it doesn't shift much on my garage floor. It works great. In retrospect, I would have bought the 4 insert Fiberbuilt strip instead since it's a little heavier. I absolutely love my Fiberbuilt strip!!

chriscwhite did you pay roughly the same amount quoted on the link above?

Also I didn't notice any options for different inserts. Are you able to enlighten me?

I paid $219. Call and speak to David Knox. He is the best and will help you to get the perfect product for your unique situation.

We offer a 30mm tee turf mat which is great and takes any tees but we only ship these within the UK and Europe

Just ordered the Fiberbuilt strip that I will place alongside my CCE. The CCE will now be stance only. CCE is super durable, but pretty harsh and I am realizing that I would hit more balls if there were an easier surface in my setup.
