  • What is best to hit from - Range Mat or Fibrebuilt

Got myself a bargain the other week, managed to pick up a driving range mat in pretty good condition for £10 ... whilst I was getting it, the guy through in the fibrebuilt strip. It looks like these had been fitted in a driving range, with auto tee's

Anyway, my question is .. I have been hitting off just the range mat since I got it, but am thinking, should I really be hitting off the fibrebuilt instead? Looking at the height of the fibrebuilt, cannot determine, if this is the same height as some of the fibrebuilt hitting strips that I have seen people install, or is this a little higher, such as a rough height

Have had a hit off the fibrebuilt, and it does feel nice, as not hitting direct into a hardish range mat

Thoughts, suggestions welcome on this please

If you don't have fiberbuilt it is 2 inches tall.

I would recommend hitting off of the FiberBuilt. That rough/hardish feeling did a number on my wrists and elbows. Make sure the bottom of your SkyTrak is level with the hitting surface of the FiberBuilt.

Definitely hit of the Fiberbuilt. Your elbows and wrists will thank you about 500 shots in.

As far as the Fiberbuilt height, it looks like yours might be missing the metal support rails. Can you post another picture showing the bottom of it?

You can move the mat tile with the hole in it to the back if it gets in your way. The mat is made up of 4 separate tiles that are all interchangeable.

Height should be similar and around 2 inches tall

Build a frame that will encase both mats. If not your stand mat will drift over time.
