  • Now I’ve found a great hitting surface

Best Matt I’ve ever hit on with a caveat

if it was anchored in or a full 5 x 5 it would suck
I got a piece of turf from jeheels
im not sure exactly what it is but the way I utilized it
its the best most accurate to life I’ve ever felt

it’s doesn’t have a heavy rubber backing in fact the backing is very very thin and the fibers are spongey but not whimpy and the will grab your club

i cut that piece to 15.5 x 35.5 To fit a truestrike section
    and just laid it in
And I think that’s the trick the piece moves when hit so it’s not jarring to the body

hip hip hurra it gives it slides it moves
hit it fat you move it forward and it makes a roll in it
hit it very fat and you push it up far n fast enough to make the ball jump up the ramp
hit it flush you move it forward too only the balls gone
pull it you shove it left
push it you shove it right

pick it or thin ino movement in the Matt

the fibers and backing are perfect to simulate the way your club interacts with turf
And aging because it’s squishy and it moves with your swing into not jarring at all

    I think I’m in love

I cut Anthony a piece of this mat that I had at the house .. its squishy under foot so not great as a big stance mat IMO.. I used it for a long time but it may cause people pain I dont know. Its thick turf and will punish fat shots severely. https://www.amazon.com/All-Turf-Mats.../dp/B004R5POJ6

I've got that mat. use it at the moment as both stance and hitting...with EVA foam tiles underneath. it is a bit squishy, but it does hit off of beautifully and not too punishing on joints. probably better off as impact only though...with an alternate stance mat

I don’t think I’d like it or that it would work well either
as a stance matt or even as a hitting surface if it was in any way anchored into a Matt or to the floor

in my opinion it works well because it’s light and thin enough in its base to give and move with the strike

the way I have it set up you must “ repair your divot “
        after each shot
every strike shoved the hitting surface forward causing a ripple
a good strike caused no ill effect as the ball was gone before the roll formed
a heavy strike well not so much

the fact that the Matt moved with the strike negated any jarring to the body

it really becomes a diy divot action

So how does that work putting - is it levelled up with no issues?

            I don’t putt on a sim

my goal is iron and wedge practice

The way I have it set up my guess would be not well

It’s leveled perfectly with my stance Matt
but the truestrike stancecmatt as shipped has a hard plastic frame that putter balls must jump or guys modify to allow them to run freely , doing that might hinder what I find so pleasing
              the divot action going forward

So ... it's just loose on the floor (but within a cutout), which makes it work? And after every shot you just need to move it back into place?

                  How high is it?

Edit: NM, I see it is 1.25" tall. Just worried that the rubber bottom will get worn out if it's constantly moving below. Maybe lay a very thin smooth piece of plastic or something below to reduce wear and tear.

It’s fit snugly into my tru strike stance Matt but free enough that a fat shot moves it a lot , but any shot down and thru will move it some . Yes I find that it’s abilty to move is the key and I can push it back into place with my foot or a few taps with my club

It sits flush and as long as it doesn’t wear out every other day I’ll give up loggevity for an accurate surface
