Divot action vs Fiberbuilt flight deck

I have a hitting mat I got off amazon. It worked ok but was a little harsh, leading to some wrist pain. I was thinking of getting something like a fiberbuilt flight deck or divot action hitting strip to put alongside my mat. Does anyone have experience with either? Any issues with them sliding around while hitting? Any solutions? TIA

If you want to get a Fiberbuilt, skip the flight deck. You can order 1x1 squares direct from Fiberbuilt. Most people get 3-4 squares to make a hitting strip that is 3x1 or 4x1 in size and you put that alongside your mat.

As far as if it slides around or not, that depends on what kind of surface you have under it. It has good weight on it, so something like carpet, it won't slide. Something like wood or concrete, it will slide but you can put anti-slip tape or foam under it and then it won't slip.

I contacted fiber built last summer and was told they are no longer selling the 1x1 squares. 3x1 was the smallest they would sell. Don't know if that's changed since then.

I bought the flight deck and cut a hole in my stance mat and dropped the flight deck in. I was able to get the hitting surface even with the stance area and I'm pretty happy with it as a cheap DIY mat. The material is very bristly, like a broom. Kind of weird but definitely easy on the joints. Only complaint is that you can't use a regular tee with it.

I have both, and I agree skip the flightdeck — it’s not the same feel as their longer strips, which I’ve tried at a course and they’re great. I also tried the gel underneath my main putting turf but the turf was too grabby on iron shots, so I’m back to the divot action insert and I think I’m going to stick with this for a while.

Did you DIY the divot action or buy the original?

I had divot action (original) and nice in that a lot a give (too much give). However now I have True Strike and really enjoy this mat. I felt the divot action was too forgiving and the True Strike more authentic especially on my miss hits . . . and I have a lot

I have the divot action. It feels fantastic.
The problem is, my son and I have destroyed it. (Son is a beginner and I am a mid handicap player and when I try shot shaping or a new swing feel to experiment with I admittedly hit the edges or behind the ball and eventually destroy the turf. The plexi material has amazingly held together despite some serious blows.) I have replaced the top turf with replacement turf, tore that up and now about to try a third time. I have been using a glue spray and it hasn't worked treat, now has ripples and its a chore to get the ball to sit still. This time will try construction adhesive.
I will soon abandon it for a DIY gel True Strike mat setup.

Bought the original insert and put it in my putting turf with some gym mats underneath the putting turf and the DA insert on the cement garage floor.

About to use my DIY divot action for the first time today, or tomorrow. Used 3/16" lexan from Amazon, which some said at 18" long is pretty good. A little less give than the standard width.

I just bought lexan today but am having a really hard time tracking down synlawn precision putt turf. What turf squares are you guys using for your DIY divot action?

I have a roll of Synlawn that I bought from Lowe’s (bought to resurface my DivotAction. I could sell you some. Just let me know if interested.
