  • DIY Turf Setup?

So this is in relation to the build I am working on in this post:

    https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...-mancave-build

I decided I wanted to try and make the entire half of the room turf and have a putting green next to the sim like this attached. I got a quote from a proputt reseller and they were quoting like 6-7k to do it.

What I want is just the whole area turfed and for the hitting strip to sit flush with the turf. I'm wondering if anyone knows a cheap and easy way to DIY it or someone who can prefab it at a reasonable price 2-4k.

I am starting from concrete slab. Would it work to lay down gym tiles like this:
    https://www.amazon.com/Sivan-Fitness...%2C152&sr=8-11

Then put turf like this on top:
    https://www.homedepot.com/p/GREENLIN...5CTL/302419757

Then drop in a fiberbuilt strip or mat

And then use these for the edges:

Am I crazy? Would that work or is there a better way?

The gym tiles are nice for getting everything level. I’d planned on doing that too, bought the tiles and some carpet tape, but ended up not using them. I have a smaller space and was concerned about the balls bouncing or rolling around after dropping off the screen. Went with a thicker turf, similar to the pet style, so the ball wouldn’t really roll on it. When I put tiles underneath the balls bounced twice as high off it. Very odd as it was supposed deaden the bounce. So the turf went over the bare concrete. I’m using a thick 5x6 mat and not the hitting strip. Having it flush would have been a cleaner look.

The short Home Depot turf would probably work fine. If the balls are rolling back you could lay something on the ground front of the screen.
