But you're still having a performance surface in the middle for your stance mat? Here's what it says in description:

you will receive: (1) 4' x 4' performance turf stance mat, (2) 1' x 3′ Fiberbuilt grass panels with total of 3 tee holes, (4) rubber 2' x 2'

Some up here have had some issues with that performance mat, soupy - what do you say about this? I may consider this and use it for right hand play only, saving that (left hitting) mat for swapping it in every 6 months or so, to get double the use?

The performance system has a XPS or EPS polystyrene foam / styrofoam base. The premium system has a solid rubber base.

There was a one-handed system for sale on Amazon for about $20 less. It might have been a premium system. But, for the extra $20 I get a full second panel system. Darn things are like gold...

The system available on Amazon for $20 less is also a performance stance mat, with one hitting strip instead of two.

The area it's going in was set up to be an exercise room, and has a thin rubberrized overlay on the floor. Shouldn't go anywhere....

Howard Just got mine today. The trays are built into the pieces comprising the frame.

@ALL I'm nothing short of impressed with this Fiberbuilt system. The base consists of four thick rubber "frames" and four styrofoam inserts ("pods") for each frame. The stance mat sits on top and a hitting strip sits on each side. I'll shoot a pic of setup as it worked out great for me, and completely by accident. The slight downside to the system is it holds together with zip ties. Again, I got lucky in that I'm keeping it in my basement in a room with a thin, rubber composite "workout" floor. The rubber frame sitting on the rubber floor isn't going anywhere...

Last week off the bay, I scored the DivotAction stance mat and insert that retails for $400. I'm just floored at the difference in quality between the DivotAction and the Fiberbuilt. The DivotAction looks like a toy (still works great) while the Fiberbuilt looks like a professional setup. Pics in a bit...

I got one today from Amazon. The cheap styrofoam panels are really disappointing; lightweight non-styrofoam plastic would have been so much better. My golf room has carpet, and the panels crunch and will soon crack under my weight. I'm debating a return, though for now I put a 1/8" thick board underneath. The zip ties also feel like a bit of a cost cutting measure. Their $269 mat from Costco had interlocking rubber pieces. The big problem with that one was that the turf sat above the feet.

Pics from the basement studio. I got lucky because the width was perfectly 6' from the upright beam to the wall. And, the two panel setup allows me to hit full swing into the Net Return from one side, and then chip onto my little Tour Links green on the other side near the wall.

Added bonus: I can still hit wedge shots off the Divot Action panel, either little pitches over the Fiberbuilt, onto the green or full swing LW and SW into the net.

OH EM GEE! Im floored. I've been practicing on the Fiberbuilt practice station for months now without it occurring to me that it was the cause of my fat shots and draws/hooks. Your post made me measure as well. I placed a long rod balanced on the hitting strip and lo and behold the mat is IS OVER AN INCH above the stance mat! It did always "look" higher than the stance mat, but I thought it was just an optical illusion because it's not "square".

I'm floored that Fiberbuilt would manufacture this with such a design flaw!

Fortunately I have a couple of other mats in my stable, I just really liked the stability and feel of the practice station rubber stance mat.

Would love some move photos of the mat and rubber foundation if you have any. Any to confirm - the hitting strip is the same height as the stance mat?

When I compared the amazon product link to the Fiberbuilt website they looked different.

They're the same height. And, I weigh 250 lbs. and have no trouble standing on the performance mat. I don't feel like I'm sinking or anything, even a little bit... I'll try to grab more pix today, including a ground level shot of the stance mat and the impact strip. Also, the nature of the impact strip is that the ball does settle down a bit due to the bristle-based hitting area.

Howard I downloaded a "level" app to confirm that the hitting surface is flush with the stance mat.

Mine is same height. Used level to check. There is no problem with styrofoam panels. If they ever go bad I will replace them with MDF board.

Same here! Downloaded a level app to check. Stance mat is perfectly flush with impact panel. I weigh a svelte 250# and I'm not sinking into the stance mat with the "styrofoam." And, it's really not styrofoam like you'd find as a packaging material. This is more dense, and yet the cut edges provide enough leeway to settle into each of the four rubber frames that form the base mat. Definite cost cutting measure, but it makes this more affordable, and still does not degrade performance.

I have hit off a lot of mats in the last 45 years. It is the best mat I have hit off.

Do you have a link to that mat at Costco? Is that a Fiberbuilt you're speaking of, or some other brand?
