  • Country Club Elite or Fiberbuilt

Appreciate feedback - looking for a mat that is a little easier on the elbows but plays realistic. I am trying to decide between these two and looking for opinions from people on their experiences.

    Thanks,
    Gerry

CCE is not something you want for easy on the joints. I had one for a week and sent it back (which isn’t cheap but there was no way I could keep it long term and enjoy garage golf). I ended up trying a relatively new mat from rainorshine golf called swing turf and have been pretty happy with it). Might be worth a look also.

Yeah if you just search the forums you'll see that it's pretty much unanimous that CCE is terrible for the joints. Fiberbuilt is much preferred and is widely considered the most popular mat.

Agreed - I am hitting off a garage (concrete) floor so elected to go with the Fiberbuilt mat as well but chose the Fiberbuilt over the new SwingTurf from rainorshine: https://rainorshinegolf.com/collections/best-golf-mats which is supposed to be really good too.

Cool - I picked up 2 Fiberbuilt 1x4 strips from a local range for 35 each. They don't move much but was thinking of using an adhesive underneath, any experience with doing this and if so, what did you use?

          Thanks,
          Gerry

Good deal on those strips! Are you going to drop them into a stance mat?

Nice, I would probably layer something like gym flooring underneath so they don't slide but you can test it out first. Something like this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Survivor...5000/314975532

They don't appear to be sliding, I have them wedged in with the main matt and some side pieces as well. This was a much more economical solution than the purchase of a new system. Thanks guys!

I may be in the minority, but I like my CCE better than my Fiberbuilt. Its more realistic and doesn't cause any joint pain. I dont find it jarring at all honestly.

Yeah I do think its a little bit of swing type, and a little personal preference. I like a little feedback when I hit it fat.. I dont get much with the fiberbuilt. I may be more of a sweeper than a digger... AoA with irons is -5 or -6 degrees...

CCE is very grabby nothing like real turf after the strike.

We will have to agree to disagree. I don't find CCE grabby at all. My old Monster Tee turf was horribly grabby, Fiberbuilt was too forgiving with little good feedback. I find CCE just right.

Personal preference.. I think people just need to try them before ruling them out. I avoided CCE for a long time due to comments on their harshness. Decided to order a CCE hitting strip to try it out rather than a full matt.. glad I did.
