Mat set up and moving mats?

Hi everyone,

Attached a rough photo of what I plan to set things up like with the mats and skytrak. I'm a lefty so righties will have to hit over the machine unfortunately but I think this is ok? My plan was to put some sort of hitting smaller mat for ball placement in between two large hitting hats for standing on. I have realized the small hitting mat moving will be a problem for sure, maybe large standing mats as well. Has anyone done it like this/what did you use? Any suggestions for both attaching the ball mat so it doesn't slide and/or brand for good ones to use for this (I have a few but one kind of cheap). I had wanted to have a few different mats that I could use depending on lie (rough and fairway). I was thinking Velcro tape so can switch in and out but heard that it will still move?? I have to be able to put things away and it will be sitting on top of a indoor/outdoor green turf like carpet. Appreciate any guidance on this.

I'm no expert but do have a skytrak.
This thread has some tips for righties and lefties coexisting - Skytrak for Left Handed Players Question(s) - Golf Simulator Forum. Some people use a lazy Suzanne mechamism, some have spots marked with tape, some have cut outs for feet to drop, some use lasers. One guy says he has the lefties swing over it as you suggest. That to me sounds like a bad idea and would mess up my swing or cause misreads, but apparently it works. You could try it yourself in right handed mode to see.

Mat shouldn't move too much if attached with velcro and it's cheap to try.

Thanks that is helpful. Some sort of cut out or tape spot and just quickly flipping skytrak is what it is looking like the plan is for me similar to the video link in that thread.

Looking for advice as well. Need my fiberbuilt strip to be portable and it’s sliding on the concrete in garage. Don’t really want to drill into the concrete. Tried rubber sheet but that still slides

My solution... yoga mat under my 4’x5’ hitting surface. Still slides ever, I mean ever, so slightly - I’m talking minimal movement. Definitely no mas adjusting after every shot and most important, eliminated hitting a moving target.

I bought a carpet pad and still slowly inching forward. I bought 4 linch pins about 3 inches long and my plan is to drill a few small holes in garage floor to slide them in at front of platform when playing as it will also make sure everything is all squared every time. Let you know how it goes.
