  • Fiberbuilt Strip with CCE or Quattro Stance Mat?

    Hello all,

Im stuck deciding what to match up as a stance mat with the 1x3 Fiberbuilt strip I ordered. I need a portable setup in garage so a full Fiberbuilt setup was not an option. Also, a complicated/custom plywood assembly is not preferred. I think a two piece setup is easiest and best for my needs. I can roll up and bungee the Stance Mat and easily store it.

I also want to have a decent second lie to hit off as an option other than FB, hence why the CCE or Quattro instead of some cheap/whatever mat. Better putting option as well.

That is why I’m thinking either a CCE may (Costco has 3ft x 5ft mat for $268 shipped), or a Quattro Mat (5ft x 5ft) which is on sale for $400 shipped.

CCE is budget option and smaller. Also the 3 ft side would match up with the 3ft Fiberbuilt. Maybe I can cut a 12inch section to extend for putting, but I can do that with either mat.

Any help deciding would be appreciated fellas. Thanks.

Are you saying that 3 feet for stance mat is too narrow? Perhaps......Wonder why it’s sold as so then?

        1. You will need some attachment method for the mat and hitting strip. If not they will both slide around on a garage floor.

        2. You are not going to be able to roll up a CCE mat

        3. A CCE mat is about 1 inch thinner then your preferred hitting strip. If you want to be level with the hitting mat and strip you will need to shim up the mat.

        4. 3 feet wide is too narrow. Take your driver stance, measure it and you will see you have little room on the outside of either foot. This limits where you can place the ball. Most launch monitors have a limited field of view.

        5. if your perceived problem is you want to park your car/cars in the garage simply buy a cheap plastic tarp to cover the mat and hitting strip. The car weight will not flatten either a CCE or Fiberbuilt hitting strip. The tarp serves to keep any fluids from the car screwing up your mats. In particular AC evaporator drains and exhaust system weep holes tend to drip a bit on the mat and make stains if not covered.

All the above is from my actual experience having a sim in my garage where on most days a car is parked.

          forgot to mention I’m using a Mevo+.

          1) was thinking of printing some 3D parts to anchor them together. I have heavy gym rubber flooring it will sit on too.

          2) CCE manufacturer says you can wrap it but I get you may mean it’s a pain. But it’s easy enough to slide around.

          3) I read CCE is 1.5 inch and Fb is 1.7 inch. Figure not major difference to have to alter heights.

          4) yeah you may be right here too narrow. But then I could rotate it and stand on the 5 foot wide part and the FB mat would make it 4 feet deep total.

          5) I set up my garage as a gym. Put commercial style rubber flooring etc so that should help with sliding. But a 2 inch thick square mat would interrupt some workouts if just in the middle of garage. Would like to be able to easily move it to a corner or onto driveway to workout and back in etc...maybe even hang up on side wall...

A CCE mat compresses when you stand on it to about 1 inch. The ball siting on a Fiberbuilt strip is 1.75 inches. For me it was enough of a difference to place a .75 piece of plywood under the CCE mat. Your mileage may differ.

My mat is 5x5. Before I got the Fiberbuilt strip I hit off the mat. There wasn't a hell of a lot extra space behind me considering you have to move into your address position. Also if you half step off the mat is kind of tweaks you ankles.

not quite sure what you’re referring to in that post, the OP got a complete Fiberbuilt Setup. Only pictures are of the FB mat and later him building a plywood base to hold it all together. Not what I’m trying to do.

Ah I see. That’s a bummer. I wonder if the sinking is the case with the Quattro.

so I guess it’s between the CCE in a 5x5 at $568 shipped vs Quattro in a 5X5 at $400 shipped. CCE definitely jumped in price.

Your looking for information on how to construct a mat with different pieces and have it still have it movable. The pictures in the thread shows a way to have a heavy mat and still have it be movable. Sorry for taking the time to try and help you out

No need to apologize or be offended lol. Thx for the thought. I get what you mean now, just not the direction I wanted to go.
