  • Fiberbuilt mat strip

I just transitioned from Optishot to the Mevo plus. I had a homemade stance mat with an inset cut in for the Optishot unit. I want to keep the stance mat and was thinking of removing the Optishot unit for a Fiberbuilt mat strip (1’x3’). The funny things is, when I talked with Fiberbuilt, they said the strip mat isn’t as good as the complete stance, it doesn’t have the padding under it that the complete system does. Has anyone tried both to compare? I don’t want to waste money if it’s not a good mat.

The Fiberbuilt strip works fine without additional padding underneath. Also consider our Holy Grail Hitting Strip, which is much better for putting reads, also prevents injury, allows hitting down on the ball for good launch angles, and gives better feedback on fat shots: https://store.gunghogolf.com/Holy-Gr...rip-p360373867

      Treyc321 - total thickness is 1 3/8" (1" base, 3/8" turf).

The insert works just fine without anything under it if you have a method to keep it from sliding around. The base is metal rails and as such has virtually no coefficient of friction.

A bigger concern might be the height of the insert. For instance installing in or beside a CCE mat requires the mat be raised about .75 inches to be level with the insert. If you don't mind hitting from what is kind of a side hill lie then no problem;.
