How to add a putting strip from a fiberbuilt studio mat?

I’ve got a studio 4x9 mat and trying to think of something that will transition decently to putt to the screen. Probably 8ft or so in length and just wide enough like the fiberbuilt strip. Any suggestions or what did you use to putt off the hitting strip? Cheers
