  • TrueStrike MK7 Single

Hey guys I just ordered a True Strike MK7 single mat system and I hope it is everything it is cracked up to be. I will be putting up a review when I receive my mat unfortunately it is a 7 day lead time directly from True Strike.

I like the modular design and the ability to add lefty later on if need be.

I called up Golfsmith because a promotional code wasn't working and they honored it anyway And I scored it for a hell of a deal. ($635 free shipping).

    Normally $750.

I hit a lot of balls and my wrist and elbow always bother me when I hit off cheap mats, so I didn't want to cheap out on a mat.

Calling all Truestrike users!!! I have been searching for reviews on truestrike mats and they are very hard to find for some reason. Probably because of the hefty price tag and the fact that people usually buy a cheap standing mat and a nice hitting strip.

Unfortunately I am in the process of finding a new home and I don't have the luxury of building a DIY room just yet so portability and breaking down the components is a huge plus. (The Net Return & Truestrike Mat)

I work construction and am more than capable of building out a Sim room in the new house and I just want to make sure I don't have buyers remorse And the mat is worth it.

So please anyone who has used or owns a truestrike mat please let me know if I should keep the mat or cancel my order.

    TIA

Have you tried Google? I found several reviews, all favourable.

I don't own one but remember the old adage: "you'll never regret buying quality". Don't cheap out!

I have the Truestrike, Country Club Elite Real Feel and the monster mat. Truestrike and the reel feel are the best.
I used all of them outside and the Truestrike is good but it didn't hold up as well outside. I've only used the Country Club Elite for my sim.

The Country Club Elite works the best for me - you can put a tee in and you pay in distance if you don't hit the it right.
With the Truestrike I think you can get a way with a little more when you hit a fat shot.

Anyways you can't go wrong with the Truestrike

Thanks for the thorough review, I was originally gonna go with the CC elite and decided not to bc of the club slowing down a lot on fat shots. I know this probably sounds weird bc most people would want that for shot feedback however I feel like it will bother my wrist more as it does when I hit a fat shot on the fairway. So I guess the more forgiving the better to avoid further injury. I feel like it is fairly easy to tell if you strike the mat too early anyway.

Thanks a ton for your response and others please don't be shy the more opinions the better.

I was torn between a truestrike and a country club elite, the general consensus from a number of users on this forum was that both mats are very good with the country club elite being slightly better. Because of the feedback I went with the country club, I haven't used it yet so I can't give any first hand feedback.

I can add some more to address the point on injury. I have had wrist issues and golfers elbow and I had more of a issue when I went to the grass range everyday.

Both mats are about the same from getting injured and both mats have enough cushion. The real issue is with the swing and not the mat.
I hit balls everyday in the sim and with some swing changes I haven't had any issues with my wrist or elbow.

iTeach has some good comments on golfwrx in the instruction forum - topic: Don't Hit off Mats and explains why the swing could be causing the issue.

I can add some more about portability - if you need to move and store the mat a lot the TrueStrike you can take apart and store and the CCE is just a big mat.

Thanks again, I have a wrist, elbow, and shoulder issue on my right side(bottom hand). It really bothers me the most when I hit off the cheap mats at the driving range. I will definitely check out the ITeach as my swing could be adding excess strain on my joints.

I think I am going to stick with the TrueStrike as I will be using it exclusively inside and the fact it can be disassembled and tucked away.

              Much appreciated mxwoodsman

I use the Trustrike mat and find it to be very good. I have used it for one season now and it is standing up pretty good, just can't provide any long term comments.

So I received my TrueStrike MK7 single from golf smith and so far have hit a couple hundred shots off of it. I created this thread because many of the reviews of the TrueStrike mat are many years old and they have changed the mat over the years. Hence the MK7 ( seventh generation). I am going to post pictures and video when I figure out some sort of image hosting but that won't be until later tonight or tomorrow.

I absolutely love this mat. You can swing down and through the ball just like off the fairway. The impact from the club is almost non existent. If you hit the ball correctly you can see an imprint in the gel section where the ball was compressed that dissappears in a few seconds. I really like this aspect of the mat because if you don't hit down on the ball you can tell because of the lack of imprint.

Overall super happy with this mat and it feels unlike any mat I have ever hit off of. I will post some pics and video when I get a chance but in my opinion it is worth every penny. I am curious to see how long the gel section will last. I am going to start keeping track of exactly how many shots I take off the gel section to see how much abuse this thing can take.

Thanks Sim. I've been thinking about going to a Truestrike mat. I'd appreciate seeing your setup.

Not much of a setup but here is my modest temporary spot. I just put in an offer on a house with 16 ft ceilings though so I will be building a room in the upcoming months.
